I have been listening to the remasters (just like most of the people on the list, I'm sure) and am truly amazed at how great they sound. I am hearing things that I have never heard in the songs. The songs are crisp and clear - definitely the defininitive versions of their first 5 albums. I also dig the live material on HUH and Ocean Rain and would definitely like to get the full concert recordings - a few songs of each is such a tease! It got me thinking though - why aren't there more Bunnymen live recordings in circulation. It doesn't seem like they are very anti-bootleg (I am talking about live recordings, not copies of their legit releases or demos), so why aren't there more CD trees or people trading shows? I am a fan of lots of British rock bands and many of them have websites with MP3's or CD trees (Waterboys, Simple Minds, U2 especially). What's everyone's opinion on sharing shows (NOT SELLING THEM) amongst fans that have all of the legit releases? Is it kosher to discuss CD trees or trading on this list? If the band ever decides to sell live CDs through their website I'd buy 'em, but it doesn't seem like something like that is gonna happen anytime soon. I'm not proposing anything at the moment; I'm just curious as to why so many of the Bunnymen's "contemporaries" have websites and CD trees devoted to sharing live shows, but the Bunnymen don't. Good one Ivan.. I wrote out a load of stuff but never posted as it's a tricky one to get across.. However, what the hell, here goes.. where's the "paste" tab.......... Sean, Just IMvHO of course........... Plenty of live recordings out there for sure, but just as the band shouldn't be looked upon in the same way as the others you mention, it stands to reason that the fans and sites etc shouldn't be either. I don't see that there is a problem. There's plenty of trading that goes on, and it's usually betwen friends etc, but carried out privately off list. In my mind ( okay, maybe small as that is !! ), that's how it should be, not some business-like set-up etc.. I have tried this with the McNabb cd tree, but the people are only interested in product rather than developing friendships etc. That's fine, as I know exactly what that's about now, and will treat it as such.. Yes, I do collect shows etc purely for trading purposes, but I just can't look at it this way with the Bunnymen I think that the people on this list are genuinely as interested in people ( the band, other bands, and each other ) as they are about the musical output, rather than the musical output being the be-all and end-all. The music is just the catalyst, and of course it's why we're here, so there ain't really any need for trading/bootleg specific sites etc as all the players are already here.. You just have to make an effort ( generally, this isn't aimed at anyone ) and your collection of boots should grow. If there is any particular boot/show you are after, drop me a line off list and if I have it, you're more than welcome to a copy ( no charges, B+P, or anything like that ), providing you don't mind waiting till I have time. Like I said, just my opinion, and I'm sure others will differ, and I ain't saying mine's correct. Also, maybe a different e-mail address would be benefitial as you have *Business* written all over you !!!!
