I've chosen to go to the McNabb gig in Liverpool for similar reasons to Stu and only going to the EATB London show for similar reasons to Barry/Stevie. However I suspect the gig I'll enjoy most will be Killing Joke at Brixton, if it happens. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Stu Bird Sent: 27 October 2003 18:43 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas set list - DIRECT ACTION REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!! Y'know, It may sound strange, but given my situation as it is... no money, crap job, crap prospects, can't even stretch/commit to a hotel booking at the moment, I'm so looking forward to the 300-odd mile round trip next month.. I just love the vibe in Liverpool, and seeing the Bunnymen just tops the cake.. Yes, it would be cool to hear some older, non-obvious stuff, but I just know that when I'm there, I ain't gonna give a damn.. Can't pretend otherwise !! One thing that is worrying me though, is that I haven't received my tickets from way-ahead yet.. Anyone else still waiting for theirs ?? Same here, Steve. Thoroughly bored of the setlist last time out (whenever that was) -- I don't fancy yet another run through of 'Rescue' or 'Bedbugs' etc. But, hey, it's only a 40 min trip for me to Liverpool so, you know..... - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== - --------------------------------- Want to chat instantly with your online friends? Done all my CD LPs which came to about 40Gb and I'm recording at 128Kbps. You can do the vinyl/tapes on your PC quite easily but it's time consuming (Give me or Stu, who told me how, a shout if you want more info). Already use musicmatch. Yeah Macs are great machines. Mine is kinda on order when the missus goes back to the US for Xmas, though she's going to Vegas during that period. Tech stuff can be boring, but the benefits are sometimes worth the crap. But dunno whether it's worth getting. Most of my stuff is on record and tape, I'm already up to 'D' on my CD collection and I've only used up about 4Gb. Unless I can get one of them things to convert vinyl onto mp3. Dunno how good they are. Anyway, defo get one Raj, especially if you do a bit of travelling, it stops you going crazy in airports. If you're on pc I'd get the iTunes pc version, it's a beaut. The Musicmatch pc jukebox thing is crap. Wish I'd got a Mac instead of a pc now that I've seen how good Mac stuff is. Having seen the Boston and NY shows, I gotta tell ya, I thought the setlists were really good, and very well-balanced. Granted, a lot of the more obscure, earlier stuff has been left by the wayside, and yeah, sure, I'd love to hear "Gods..." or "Turquoise Days" or something along those lines. But, looking at the sets from a purely classicist aesthetic, the songs that are being played are the best-written, most complete, fully realized songs, in terms of structure, lyrical content, melody, blah blah fukkin blah. So what's lost in off-kilter weirdness is made up for--in spades--by sheer CLASS. I think the problem is that maybe a lot of fans have just seen too many Bunnymen shows, and get tired of some of the more obvious choices--"Rescue," and things of that nature. But, for my money, any set that contains "Ocean Rain" "Nothing Lasts Forever" "Angels and Devils" "Rust" "Heads Will Roll" and "The Killing Moon" is pretty much beyond reproach. And I'm pleased to see that "Do It Clean" has been apparently abandoned for these shows, cos that's the one predictability I found pretty tiresome. - --Chris "stevie g" Sent by: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org 27-Oct-2003 06:12 PM Please respond to seven-seas To: cc: Subject: Fw: seven-seas set list - DIRECT ACTION REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!! remember [was it the nme did it?] that vote for bunnymen songs for a gig back in '97 or somthing.
