Still using a can of hairspray a day? he's lucky he's still got his hair, I can't imagine what he would've done if he had gone bald - given up probably or re-named the band Echo and the Baldyman!! Shaz ps - I quite like Finley Quaye - was it a good version of All Along the Watchtower, I really like that song.... - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Noose Boy" > From Mr McNabb when asked if he'll be attending the EATB gigs (prob > Liverpool, I guess). I was surprised to come across a new (the only ?) Wild Swans CD compilation this weekend. Now, if this is old news, forgive me, but otherwise.... ....it's entitled 'Incandescent' and it amounts to a collection of sessions/singles and a live set as Bunnymen support. Tracklisting : the revolutionary spirit(original mix) // god forbid(original mix) // flowers of england // the iron bed // opium // now you're perfect // no bleeding // enchanted // thirst // the revolutionary spirit(u.s. version) // god forbid(u.s. version) Bonus CD: northern england // now and forever // crowning glory // holy spear // broken home // infidel // god forbid(live) // miracle heart(live) // now you're perfect(live) // hour of need(live) // fruits of the earth(live) // the revolutionary spirit(live) Some more info here : http://www.renascent.co.uk/pageswswans/wswans.html and quite a lot of info here : http://www.copefan.co.uk/jetstream/press/pages/ws-incan.htm - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2003 16:09:37 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Wild Swans At 05:29 PM 9/29/03 +0100, you wrote: >Right. Is there some reason that we as US fans ought to *avoid* buying the imports? Will the band get more money? If so, should the UK fans buy from Rhino? Just kinda curious.... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2003 17:06:02 -0700 From: "Ivan Smith" Subject: Re: seven-seas US remasters news no reason, other than the possibility that if all of us US folk were to purchase the UK release, and leave the US editions gathering dust on store shelves, it could affect future releases of archive Bunnymen material on the Rhino label. Failure to release US editions would affect press coverage and gig attendance, which would result in even smaller US tours than what we're seeing now. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amy Moseley Rupp" To: Sent: Monday, September 29, 2003 4:38 PM Subject: Re: seven-seas US remasters news > > "Yes, it looks like we're going to release the Bunnymen reissues early next > > year. I appreciate the rationale; but are there enough people that are reachable through the various forums to make a difference in sales? Should we not mailorder, but literally buy off the dusty shelves? ;-) (serious question) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2003 19:26:08 -0700 From: "Ivan Smith" Subject: Re: seven-seas US remasters news Amy. My only intent in forwarding the unedited e-mail to this list was to give seven-seas a little bit more info than what I gave to the the bunnymen.com forum and the newspage, and to present the word that yes, it looks like the Rhino release of the albums is a 'go'. I do know this - when it comes time to market the re-masters via the site - I will give the UK release date, and the US date, when available. For every one of us who choose to purchase an album via online outlets, there are 100 who use the internet for research and information, and will purchas in a brick and mortar establishment. Rhino is betting that the casual US fan - like the kajillions that saw the Bunnymen at Inland Invasion will look forward to the US release, and purchase locally at that time Should you or should you not buy online from an overseas outlet? I suspect most US members of this list that intend to purchase the remasters will do so from a UK outlet. For me, I'll do with every release, I'll be putting in my order with amazon.co.uk when it's available there... and order when available from amazon.com... AND purchase a couple copies of each at local sellers, which I'll hand out to friends... I'll also make sure that whenever I'm in a store that sells the remasters, I'll 'accidentally' move the Echo and the Bunnymen CDs to the front of the bin. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amy Moseley Rupp" To: Sent: Monday, September 29, 2003 6:02 PM Subject: Re: seven-seas US remasters news > > shelves, it could affect future releases of archive Bunnymen material on the > > Rhino label.
