I remember waaaay back you mentioning the band South and we had a brief discussion regarding their "sound".. New single and album out very soon.. saw them again at Glasto and was impressed despite their guitar mix problems I'd look out for NYC band Stellastarr* They've just released a storming single called Jenny, and all 3 tracks on the single are excellent. Massive Pixies influence but wtf, I like 'em. Album released in the US today I believe. Definately the best new US export IMvHO. Also, look out for the next Cooper Temple Clause single called Blind Pilots out early Nov. Best track from their new album by far. Matt, Snow Patrol are playing Bath on Thurs 23 Oct.. Fiver inc booking fee.. Bargain, and a brilliant little venue ( Moles ) too.. Cheers, Stu Charles Pham wrote: Hot Hot Heat were all the rage, of all the new bands, though. They had a prime slot and their energy was appropriate for the occasion. I wasn't into it though, but everyone else was. They were showcasing to a few labels out here. They had great energy, but rough around the edges musically. There was one track, called "Coco" or something along those lines, which was great. But the rest of the set seemed disorganized. Here's hoping that the record is much better... The new South album is pretty good. Much more rock than I anticipated. Need to spend more time with it before I can give an honest opinion on it. The new BRMC (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) single "Stop" has been the single of the summer for me thus far. The album is on par with their last record. The new Stereophonics is dissappointing. The new Strokes is interesting. They've added keyboards but still keeps inline with their last record: lo-fi and basic. So if you dig the first record, you'll love the new one i think. I'm more interested in seeing them live than anything else. Lastly, has anyone seen "Lost In Translation" the movie w/ Bill Murray? I heard it's amazing...and it takes place in Japan. The soundtrack is pretty rad...
