Nice. Vacation was great, can't wait til the next one... Thanks to Red & LooLoo, I've got my ticket to the Liverpool show. Lookin' forward to the meet, if there is one. And got my London show tix through WayAhead.com. Thanks to those of you for the heads up on that one. Anne G, i'm all set for London, so no need to worry about me. LooLoo, emails to your freeserve account keeps getting bounced back. According to reports, The Bunnymen are performing as part of the CMJ Music Marathon in New York between Oct 22-25th. Not sure what date they're playing or where exactly, but I've been told Irving Plaza is potentially it. Sources include CMJ press release, which I foolishly deleted from my inbox last week. Random: according to friends, David Gahan (of Depeche Mode) added "Lips Like Sugar" during one of his medleys at last month's Arizona show...and word is, it sounded good. Lastly...after getting scammed online, then scammed again with fake tickets, I've managed to get real tickets, so I'm off to the Inland Invasion show with the Bunnymen & the Cure & the Furs. Will report back on Monday, maybe with pics if I can sneak a camera in. Zap, if you're still goin, ring me up and lets meet up. See: http://www.cmj.com/marathon/ I've been keeping up with this, because Killing Joke are playing the opening party, and their fans have been rioting over exact date and time. They are indignant that "The New Deal" are playing last, and see them as "headliners." That's shite, though: it's a showcase, not a gig, and for all anyone knows everyone might walk out after KJ. Like any other conference, the exact dates, times and venues are fluctuating as they try to cram as many bands as they can into the available slots -- and try to work with the bands' schedules, obviously. I liked what I saw of the magazine when they came to SXSW (CMJ) and they handed out a very cool CD freebie ;-) If life ever gets sane here, would love to do the NYC showcase in a big way; in the interim, next year's spring break will see either or both SXSW and the UK for me. > Random: according to friends, David Gahan (of Depeche Mode) added "Lips Like > Sugar" during one of his medleys at last month's Arizona show...and word is, > it sounded good.
