Here's another idea for you. You are allowed to take your own .mp3 player to a bar, plug it in, pay your fee and your sons are queued up and played. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Amy Moseley Rupp Sent: 09 September 2003 00:16 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: seven-seas OT: NYC bar famous for 26,000 song MP3 jukebox People flock to this East Village bar (Hi-Fi) for the jukebox, made and filled (ripped from the owner's own 1,798 CD collection) with 26,000 songs, including all 17 full-length Rolling Stones albums. You do have to pay as with other jukeboxes. People try to impress their friends by picking "the most obscure thing they possibly can." If a song is excessively chosen it will be marked "overplayed" sparing anyone from making a common choice. Victims of overplay include Coldplay's "Yellow" and The Pixies' "Debaser." ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 11:21:19 +0100 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: RE: seven-seas OT: how to get the geeks out of the closet and not writing viruses This is like the .mp3 idea I just had and I hadn't even read this msg. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Amy Moseley Rupp Sent: 09 September 2003 00:21 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: seven-seas OT: how to get the geeks out of the closet and not writing viruses There's a new club craze going round -- only cool isn't in. Multi-player games are faster and better on a LAN rather than over the Internet, so clubs with up to 40 spots on their hub popular, staying open most of the night, with players bringing their own laptops or using set-ups. They are, as one would expect, almost entirely male, and are billed as "LANgasms." They are played by teens at after-school get-togethers and sleepovers, and by adults in basements and other spots rented for the purpose. The game of choice is Counter-Strike, pitting five counterterrorists against five terrorists. These "BYOC" events (bring your own computer) are drawing people out of their own basements and into a social atmosphere where they can stand up and taunt their victims. - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 12:59:41 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas OT: NYC bar famous for 26,000 song MP3 jukebox > to a bar, plug it in, pay your fee and your sons are queued up > and played. Me, I prefer not going to those trendy bars anyway! I prefer the old ones with some charactor! And I don't think I'd feel much like standing in line JUST to play the jukebox! By the time it'd get round to my song (which I undoubtedly would have to pay for, it's NYC, c'mon) I'd probably have left the place hours before and not get to hear it anyway!! Just my 2 cents! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 Sep 2003 10:22:21 -0400 From: Red Subject: seven-seas ALF in Boston a life of crime..... There are times when I'm glad I don't have sons.... in this case to pay for. But you've got... gosh... how many? ;-) SONGS!!!!!!!!! And as an American, if they'd been SONS, we would've written "sons are lined up and....." - --Amy (who really would like a son) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 10:39:28 -0400 From: "Chris Adams" Subject: seven-seas OT: Question Hi-- What's that new Scouse band--the Zontars?
