I can't BELIEVE that Gary's only 25 or 26 and >has already put out such wonderful music. Thanks to Amy, I listened to "Run" on Monday and have been listening to it daily. I agree with the recommendation from Stu and Amy. It's a great song and I makes me want to listen to the rest of the songs. It reminds me of the feeling I got when I heard Coldplay's "Yellow", a song which I liked a lot, but when I listened to the others songs once, I found them to be uninteresting abd basically have dismissed the band slightly. I just it's not the same way with Snow Patrol. Anybody pick up on my recommendation of Sheila Divine's "Secret Society" lately? What's your opinion? Matt? Amy? Red? Shaz? Loo? Raj? Stu? KP? and anybody else that I may have not mentioned by name. This particular song is okay...but the rest aren't like that one. Sorry......I guess I'll just have to be in the minority on this one. 'S'okay, if we'd found a new band to rival EATB, doubtless we'd all be frothing at the mouth :-) There are certainly folks here who like other bands a wee bit better, but AFAIK, they are all older bands as well. Confession time: is there someone here that favours a band that's formed in say, the last *ten* years? Well, that might be too tight.... even Radiohead couldn't fit into that bucket.... *fifteen*? - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2003 08:43:06 -0500 From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas Snow Patrol (not just for Shaz, but everybody) Quoting Henry Biedenkapp : > Thanks to Amy, I listened to "Run" on Monday and have been listening to it > daily. > I agree with the recommendation from Stu and Amy. LOL My brother AKA the network administrator around here doesn't like too much "free" downloading and once he was hooked on the song, he asked me had I bought the CD? and yup, I'd just ordered it, along with _Slideling_ and, of all things, Radiohead's _The Bends_. They have been "despatched" to me and are doubtless on some plane, train, or .... lorry? ;-) Henry and all, if you go to www.snowpatrol.net, the lyrics are there and I *think* there are samples of the new songs to listen to. (this is the band's official site) Will look for the Sheila Divine stuff as soon as I have a bit of breathing space.... very very busy. - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2003 09:00:08 -0500 From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: RE: seven-seas PiL Quoting Noose Boy : > I'm lost, which album, Metal Box? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000008TW5/ref=m_art_li_8/002-4746115-8980036?v=glance&s=music The title of the album is 9, as in the number nine.... number nine? (LOL) Raj, I was laughing at myself, picturing all the people I've lost with my trains of thought, as if I'd left them floating helplessly in outer space, like so many Major Toms.... I'm sorry, in re-reading some things I realise that I've left out some crucial detail or other that is perfectly obvious to *me* since I'm thinking of it, but isn't obvious to anyone else! Apologies to anyone so stranded and frustrated and I will endeavour to do better :-) - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2003 10:29:08 -0400 From: "Chris Adams" Subject: Re: seven-seas Snow Patrol (not just for Shaz, but everybody) Henry et al-- I've checked out Coldplay's recent album, "A Rush of Blood To the Head" and I really dig it, esp. "Politik" and "Clocks"--but I haven't heard much off the first. I've heard "Yellow", which I loathe (too smarmy and sentimental)--are the other tunes any good, or is it all as...erm...WIMPY as yellow. Also, anyone hear the forthcomng BRMC? I thought they were the "great white hope" a coupla years ago, but since then, I've become a little bored with their lack out output (what are they, The Stones?) and "we dig the Mary Chain and Suicide" predictability. Thanks, Chris PS--Henry, I'm gonna be in NY in a few weeks with new g/f, and am gonna be hooking up with some friends to hang and have a coupla cocktails--you got time to hang out?
