I fancied John Taylor until I saw Mac.... and JT was history! Cheers though to both you and Charles for posting info -- none of this shoot the messenger stuff -- and I'm glad that they are as high on the bill as they are, because it means the crowd ought to be bigger. Just an inju$tice that Echo have such little time compared to others.... for example, why is Interpol even on the bill? Yes, they will be a draw, but they only have 30 mins if memory serves, and they are not from the same era or even genre as the "headliners." More is better in LA :-) - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2003 13:15:02 -0500 From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas un- Cool Quoting Shaz : > and yesterday I went to see the Johnny Depp film > The Pirates of the Caribbean. ARGH! Was going to do that but ended up picking grapes instead, meaning that the double header will have to wait until Wed or Thur night (probably Thur).... The best set I've seen this year ( inc festivals ). I loved the Primals at Glasto because of the power they gave out with 3 guitarists and a bassist... Well it was the same configuration with SP on Sat, only the venue is prob 150 max capacity rather than a huge field, so you can imagine how it came across. Loud, but not too loud.. 14 tracks ( plus one encore ) mostly made up from the last couple of albums, and they were also having great banter with everyone there. Had a chat and a beer with them afterwards and they were really nice guys thanking us for the support etc. To say I was buzzing is an understatement... 2 of our party had never heard of the band before and went away very happy.. And for a gig that cost UKP 6.75 ( about 10 US dollars ? ) a bargain... Stu Amy Moseley Rupp wrote: Stu, where's the Snow Patrol review?! :-) This is a bad pun, but "Run," don't walk, to hear the new Snow Patrol album. This is one of the very few songs that has ever grabbed me and refused to let go; I am walking around singing the chorus, which is anthemic -- if this doesn't hit the UK charts, I don't know what would. And my money is on this song being on a movie soundtrack. If any of you would like me to send the one song to you, I can. However I intend to get the full album ASAP. - --Amy, who is a sucker for Snow Patrol's genre of trying to cheer up star-crossed lovers - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== - --------------------------------- Want to chat instantly with your online friends? In fact, I tend to view films and tv as a bit of a waste of time.. having to keep quiet etc isn't really how I like to spent my time when I'm not at work or asleep. That being said, I am watching a bit more these days since getting the dvd, but I can't handle films where you have to think about it a lot.. Action, blood and guts is fine.. In fact I saw Shooters last week and thought it was excellent.. i do prefer British films on the whole..Human Traffic, Trainspotting etc Midnight Express however is one of my favs, as is One Flew Over The Cookoo's Nest.. Oh.... it's my medication time...
