That's a bit of difference, though, Tony.... I also will/would buy the CDs for the increase in sound quality that I've noticed on other remasters; but I've been shopping for UK-released CDs this weekend and they're nowhere near USD $11. If you're there, you have to add VAT, and if you're here, you have to pay shipping. The cheapest I've seen non-on-sale releases is #9, which is roughly USD $15. I'll spend it for the Bunnymen -- as a side thought, it just now occurred to me if artists and labels are making up lost profits to privacy, by charging a zillion dollars for concert tickets -- because of precisely that reason: it's nothing to most concert tickets these days, even possibly buying six CDs (first five albums + hypothetical "extras" disc). I suppose they could do another boxed set and release the First Five remastered but with no extra tracks, and the extras as a separate disc -- but still forcing you to buy all of them as a set. They could even sell the First Five separately, but only sell the disc as part of the set. Marketing, marketing, pleasing the fans, profits.... don't envy them the headache! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2003 11:20:43 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas V2003 >(knackered) to see the rest of the set - Nothing Lasts Forever, Killing >Moon, The Cutter, Back of Love. I guess they have to play the chart toppers for the 'general' crowd that was probably there, to try and pick up some newbies, but as much as I love those tracks, I sure as hell hope the anniversary gigs have some different tunes!! yeah yeah, I know, it's rumoured to be in the works....but let's pray it's more than just one odd track at each gig! >Mac's voice was absolutely >brilliant (as it was when I saw him at Summer Sundae >festival in Leicester last Sunday). Ya know, I think the new kids can't seem to get *as* excited as we did/do about the band.....coz I noticed that too. Unless they're just too blown away to react!! ;-) And they should be!! Looking forward to October, maybe they'll play on my birfday!! ;-) Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2003 09:14:30 -0700 From: "Ivan Smith" Subject: Re: seven-seas Bunnymen & The Cure in LA - Official waiting for confirmaition on this from mgt.
