There may be a few folk on here within reach of Edinburgh who, like me, can't make Ian's Canterbury gig - Snow Patrol are playing at the the Liquid Room on August 22nd. Why the totally-apropos-of-nothing title? Coventry is in Warks, but other than that, why would they care about Brummy? And can someone tell me if "mix his words" is youf-ful speak over there, or if "mince his words" shoulda been used instead? I think I want David's job! - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Aug 2003 11:28:04 -0700 From: Charles Pham Subject: seven-seas Bunnymen in LA w/ The Cure & Psych Furs??! ok, i'm back on the regular list, after a short stint away, and a short stint on the moderated list. anyhow, i'm back because I've got word of some fantastic (yet still UNCONFIRMED) news: ================= this taken from Chain Of Flowers, The Cure's unofficial Official news source: Well, its out there now...If you've checked the tour dates page over the last week or so, you probably noticed a tease about something possibly happening in the US next month. And while it hasn't been 100% confirmed just yet, The Cure are very likely playing a show on Sept. 20th just outside of Los Angeles. Here's the info so far: KROQ presents The Cure The Psychedelic Furs Violent Femmes Berlin Also rumored to be on the bill - Echo & the Bunnymen and Siouxsie & the Banshees (at this time, I can not confirm either of them) Sept. 20th, 2003 at the Hyundi Pavillion in Glen Helen, Ca.. Just to reiterate, The Cure are not 100% confirmed just yet, but they are very close. Also, there is no truth to the rumor that this will be called the "Roger O'Donnell, This Is Your Life" festival. : ) ================= this taken from Burned Down Days, The Psych Furs' unofficial Official news source: Okay, I can't hold back any longer. I've been keeping this a secret for too long now, and it's time to 'fess up. *deep breath* The Cure will PROBABLY be headlining the September 20th show in Los Angeles. Final confirmation is still pending, but it is most likely going to happen. I'm really, really sorry that I had to act like the rumor that was posted was false, and I'm also really sorry that I wasn't able to post this news earlier. Please understand that the ONLY reason I knew this was because of a connection between myself and the Cure, NOT because of anything I heard from the Furs or their management. For that reason, it would not have been appropriate for me to have given the news here. The only reason I'm posting this now is because it's getting closer and closer to September, and I know some of you are going to want to start making the neccessary plans to head out there for the show. Tickets haven't gone on sale yet (I don't know when they will), but expect them to sell VERY QUICKLY when they do. In my experience, these one-off Cure shows tend to attract a lot of people from far away. Having the Furs on the same bill will only increase the demand. Please keep in mind that this information has NOT been publicly announced, and is still considered TENTATIVE until further notice. I will let you all know the minute I know for sure. Obviously this is a public forum and my posting this is going to lead to immediate gossip-spreading, but I'm not all that concerned since CoF gave enough of a teaser already yesterday. ================= ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Aug 2003 13:30:10 -0500 From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas Killing Joke gig Quoting Noose Boy : > Other mate I went with has put it top ten gigs he's ever been to and > he's been to a lot. > > Can't tell you how good it was, I can barely hear today. I'd jump an ICBM to England, land, and start the same over there :-P If a double-decker bus were to hit me, I'd be alone ;-) and my last thoughts, except about my kids, would be "Fuck I never made it to England!!!!" Geez this is forever to wait. - ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #661 ********************************
