Had a lot of the early Factory works there that Saville had worked on from Fac 1 (poster)onwards and also included original art work for most the Joy Division/New Order works with info on where he'd got his ideas. If you're a Joy Division fan then it's a chance to see almost all the releases they had or at least the covers. Stuff like the hardback copy STILL. Actually just found a web site that might interest you http://130.102.181.43/working/dennis/factory/ Jon you still on this list? BTW if you are thinking of going to the show, it's on til 14th Sept, you can two for one tickets from a voucher in TimeOut. They've made copies of Fac 1 poster, a limited edition of 500 prints but at #118 I passed on that one but bought the music for the show, by New Order, haven't played it but don't expect much from it. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Noose Boy Sent: 31 July 2003 20:30 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: seven-seas http://www.designmuseum.org/ Until 14 September 2003 Design: Peter Saville Associates THE PETER SAVILLE SHOW One of the most important designers working today, Peter Saville has been a central figure in design and style culture for the 25 years since he became creative director of the fledgeling Factory record label in late 1970s Manchester. As well as designing iconic graphics for bands such as Joy Division and New Order, Saville has created equally influential fashion images for Yohji Yamamoto, John Galliano at Christian Dior and Stella McCartney. With a spectacular installation by the architect Lindy Roy and a soundtrack by New Order, this exhibition will draw on Peter Saville's private archive to trace his career from his first Factory poster in 1977 to his recent multimedia experiments. Supported by VH1. New Order's specially recorded soundtrack for The Peter Saville Show is available on CD from the Design Museum Shop - shop@designmuseum.org - for #10 each. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #631 ********************************
