I hope you are all keeping your cool as best you can ;-) I suggest snowcones, if you can find them :-) If you don't have air-conditioning in the car or at home, pouring large amounts of the coolest water you can find, over your head, helps quite a lot. The news here is that this is the hottest it will get for the rest of the year (though that ensures at least one more heat wave). Tell your neighbours that someone from Texas told you this weather was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, and see if any of them try it ;-) You can also brew tea in glass jars (for real) out of doors, and cook huge meat roasts by wrapping carefully in aluminium and placing carefully under your car's bonnet and atop the engine manifold. And if drinking things with ice in them seems too effeminate or weird, just let the ice melt first ;-) - --Amy" - --- I looked up 'snowcones' in my dictionary... _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Yup, that's it....the song itself isn't much like Pounding, from a choon point of view, but the drums are VERY similar.... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 09 Aug 2003 05:20:36 +0000 From: "Peter Burnand" Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio Fergie's defo lost it, Matt. Didn't join up till the following year, though the Falklands were probably partly responsible.... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Aug 2003 06:27:33 +0100 From: "Matt H" Subject: Re: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio >PS: Every Snow Patrol song I've heard sounds like it's >been borrowed in parts from their parent's record >collection. Well arriving home tonight I parked in the usual spot in the garage under the building. In the headlights was a baby dove huddled in a corner so i stood and tried to see if it was OK, and admired its incredible cuteness... After a few minutes the mama dove suddenly appeared out of nowhere and all but attacked me, fluttering around loudly and crashing into the pipes and lights and ceiling -- apparently trying to get my attention away from her wee dove babe. So i took the hint and left them to their own concerns... So you see I was almost Pounded by Doves. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #630 ********************************
