He replied that he was sorry, but he didn't have a gauge. However, if it was any help, the wind had just blown his Land Rover off the cliff. Funny that. I looked up "shite" in *my* dictionary and it said "(pred.(ominantly) Brit.(ish))." Ponder the possibilities there. But I guess there's enough wiggle room in "predominantly" to allow a Canadian band to qualify :-) - --- I looked up 'predominantly' in my dictionary but it wasn't there because I'd borrowed the dictionary off a ManU fan and they don't do words of more than two syllables. _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 09:33:10 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio > borrowed the dictionary off a ManU fan and they don't do > words of more than two syllables. MORE than two? They don't even do two-syllable words anymore! Beckham, Veron....who's next? Could the Neville brothers be on their way? (no great loss). Solksjaer? At least Scholes, Butt, Giggs and Brown should be safe. How the hell van Nistelrooy has survived I'll never know! ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 09:36:59 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio > At least Scholes, Butt, Giggs and Brown should be safe. Actually, no, scratch two of them. Seeing as they're commonly referred to as Scholsey and Giggsy, looks like they're knackered! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 12:28:06 +0100 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio 1. read 'borrowed' as 'stole' (from his car whilst robbing car stereo) 2. read 'looked up' as 'scratched head wondering what this sqaure object with sheets was, I know I'll treat myself and use it as bog roll) 3. here's a good 2 syllable word for you 'treble' - -----Original Message----- From: Peter Burnand I looked up 'predominantly' in my dictionary but it wasn't there because I'd borrowed the dictionary off a ManU fan and they don't do words of more than two syllables. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 12:35:16 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio > 3. here's a good 2 syllable word for you 'treble' Old news, Raj! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 14:10:00 +0100 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio Ah but that's all the scousers have to live on, the past - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of matt.harkness@bt.com Sent: 08 August 2003 12:35 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio > 3. here's a good 2 syllable word for you 'treble' Old news, Raj! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Aug 2003 09:33:24 -0400 From: Red Subject: RE: seven-seas OT Rush in Rio At 08:22 AM 8/8/03 +0000, you wrote: >--- >I looked up 'predominantly' in my dictionary but it wasn't there because I'd >borrowed the dictionary off a ManU fan and they don't do words of more than >two syllables. I hope you are all keeping your cool as best you can ;-) I suggest snowcones, if you can find them :-) If you don't have air-conditioning in the car or at home, pouring large amounts of the coolest water you can find, over your head, helps quite a lot. The news here is that this is the hottest it will get for the rest of the year (though that ensures at least one more heat wave). Tell your neighbours that someone from Texas told you this weather was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, and see if any of them try it ;-) You can also brew tea in glass jars (for real) out of doors, and cook huge meat roasts by wrapping carefully in aluminium and placing carefully under your car's bonnet and atop the engine manifold. And if drinking things with ice in them seems too effeminate or weird, just let the ice melt first ;-) - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #625 ********************************
