Cost about a tenner, plus I've also been able to record stuff like real audio streamed direct from the net which I've then passed back into the pc for editing and burning.. The whole 2 way system cost me about 20 quid tops, and seems to do the same as said gadget and then more as I have the ability to record audio from any source on the hi-fi ( vinyl, tape, radio, tv, video, dvd) to hard disc....
