Do you happen to know the capacity? My youngest's got a DVD of Bob The Builder Live! which was shot there -- it does not look like a huge arena, but perhaps part of it was closed off. Had a good laugh when my brother said it was in Glasgow. That'd be a medium capacity arena -- I don't even think we have anything of that size currently in Austin -- maybe South Park Meadows or the Back Yard at Bee Cave. Our arena is something like 20K and the bigger cities have even larger capacities on theirs. I was honestly expecting Wembley to be at least 20K. Do very large gigs happen on footie fields or what?! Was reading that Blair has made a mess out of the national train system (hearsay from blair2004.com) but hey, in this case a delay might prove fun! :-) Not much of a national train system here (Amtrak, but it's already a mess) so he'd have no probs with that :-) BTW.... I don't think we'd say "coach" to mean train.... I'm thinking of riding a stagecoach to a gig.... now THAT would make an impression!!! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jul 2003 17:26:57 -0400 From: Red Subject: RE: seven-seas REM At 04:10 PM 7/30/03 -0500, you wrote: > >BTW.... I'm glad that they are available, but riding a bus for any distance here is AWFUL. I did it a lot during college.... and didn't even meet anyone! But I tried *NOT* to meet anyone; I wore my headphones and listened to music and did homework. I never saw anyone I thought interesting enough to take the headphones off for ;-) Okay Tony no probs with the buses either :-) Trains are much better in my limited experience, but then again the one long ride I've been on is through gorgeous country (NYC to Montreal). ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #602 ********************************
