(i had just walked in the door, so I wasn't watching) Agreed. And I figured out the Rush reference -- the, um, rather heavy record store clerk is *singing the instrumentals* as he comes into work late, and pops in the "Walking On Sunshine" tape. That's why the published music got credited, but there was no "Performed by...." credit, cos Jack Black sang it. Sort of. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 13:50:20 -0500 From: "Ted Turner" Subject: Re: seven-seas Rush soundtracks Re: Rush isnt it weird that the drummer wrote the words & the singer wrote the drum parts? tt <---------------------------------------------------> Ted Turner: UWSA/CKUW 95.9 FM Advertising & Sponsorship Manager Ph: 204 786 9779 *** Fx: 204 783 7080 Room 0R32 - University of Winnipeg 515 Portage Ave Winnipeg MB Canada R3B 2E9 tturner2@uwinnipeg.ca www.theuwsa.ca www.ckuw.ca <---------------------------------------------------> Rates/specs: CKUW - www.ckuw.ca/ratecard.jpg Stylus - www.ckuw.ca/stylusrates.pdf Uniter - http://www.uwinnipeg.ca/~uwsaweb/Uniterrates_page_1.htm Handbook- www.ckuw.ca/UWSA_handbook.jpg - www.ckuw.ca/Handbook_Specs. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amy Moseley Rupp" To: Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2003 01:46 PM Subject: Re: seven-seas Film soundtracks > > Like I said...there's lots of times when a song is credited > > in the soundtrack, but NOT in the film...I thought we covered that bit. > > I (and I'm quite sure Matt too) wasn't talking about an actual > > scene where anyone in the FILM mentioned Rush....was talking > > about just cutting that bit of music from the film. LOL.... yeah, but the latter only cos the singer writes the bass line which helps dictate the rhythm section.... Face it, Ted, without Rush you'd be hurting for CanCon :-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 14:09:27 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: seven-seas OT: mail's not working Sorry all but my mail isn't working to offlist some of the discussion..... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 14:17:58 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: seven-seas OT ARGH! Speaking of Dick, wouldn't your Goth Greenday niece like Stiff Little Fingers? :-) A lot of the dialogue in the movie could've come straight out of your mouth (well, okay, change the accent ;-) ) which had me laughing. It's MUCH better to watch closed-captioned; you miss so much if you don't, because everyone seems to talk all at once and even though the accents are American, I can't understand them! Trying to figure out how to turn the closed captioning on on the new DVD player, which has decided to overheat and malfunction, caused me to get a Very Big Glass of wine, which I'm sure contributed to the enjoyability of the film :-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #586 ********************************
