Like I said...there's lots of times when a song is credited in the soundtrack, but NOT in the film...I thought we covered that bit. I (and I'm quite sure Matt too) wasn't talking about an actual scene where anyone in the FILM mentioned Rush....was talking about just cutting that bit of music from the film. But it's only Rush so who cares??? hahhaaaa But if you watched the film and like Rush so much...how could you NOT hear it in the film IF it was actually in there???? I'd recognise any little snippet of a song by one of my fave bands if it was in a film I was watching. Heck...even my kids told me they played a Bunnymen track on something one day! (i had just walked in the door, so I wasn't watching) Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 11:38:43 -0400 From: "Nate Vanden Brook" Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: sorta film High Fidelity > Listened to an interview with Frears the director just a couple > of days ago -- was very interesting. Hadn't a clue that _High > Fidelity_ was done by a British director Actually it comes from a British author to begin w/ .A by the name ofNick Hornsby wrote the book (One of his books also gave us About a Boy). The book takes place in a London record shop. ALtho they did an excellent Job adapting it to the US. n8 ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 11:54:34 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: sorta film High Fidelity At 11:38 AM 7/24/03 -0400, you wrote: >The book >takes place in a London record shop. That said, I really liked the film and John Cusack is a pretty cool dude. I like how he'll make the occasional 'hollywood' picture to make some money so he can finance more of the projects that he really wants to do that normally wouldn't see the light of day. 'high fidelity' falling into that latter category. At 11:54 AM 7/24/2003 -0400, Red wrote: >At 11:38 AM 7/24/03 -0400, you wrote: > > >The book > >takes place in a London record shop. Almost certain commercial failure and/or cult status. argh!!! But they did a pretty good job all things considered. ALtho they left out the Richard Thompson reference. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Charbonneau" To: ; Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2003 11:52 AM Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: sorta film High Fidelity > I didn't think it needed adapting either, but unfortunately it's the > American Way!!
