I slipped up once with saying "zee" instead of "zed" (even the *Canadians* say "zed") and ended up with an earful; my only defence (notice the "c" :-P) was that I was sleepy ;-) I've been saying "zed" since RUSH did the Grammy- nominated instrumental, "YYZ" (why-why-zed), the Toronto airport code, like LHR and LGW for Heathrow and Gatwick.
