I'll be trying to do similar minisites > for the other festivals as well... I *finally* got to see this today.... It's taken three days to both work my ass off enough AND get the computers up after the WORST move of my life, which is not over. However, in waiting, I got to use my "cinema display" (21"), T1 connection, and stereo speakers to listen, and it's very cool :-) There's quite a buzz in seeing a name you know in print..... If I get over to Liverpool for the 25th I'm definitely going to try to take some pictures! - --Amy, trying to fend off my purple-painted fingernailed three-year- old who either wants to listen to more music or play a game! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Jun 2003 21:07:18 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas pics of mac at glasto > has he died his hair a reddish colour? Now that I've looked at the four of Mac, yeah, it looks that way, but hard to say for sure. Were there red stage lights? Certainly it wasn't sunset! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Jun 2003 23:25:39 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: seven-seas Bunnyfans: The Next Generation While I was trying out the bunnymen.com site I decided to stream down a video to watch. My brother has been a wee bit down on them since I've become erm, obsessed, was it KP? with England and things English, but there's hope -- he was drumming and humming in spite of himself. The three-year-old didn't care for "Nothing Lasts Forever" so next I played "The Cutter" and she sat up straight as a rod when she heard the opening sitar riff, because that's part of Matt's Bunnymix -- which is her favourite song. She watched that video very avidly but kept getting upset periodically. She said "I want the boy in the blue shirt." Hmmmmmm.... She meant MAC! Every time the camera would move off Mac she'd get upset! So I kept on playing videos and every time through the years of video she could find the boy "with the lipstick like Mommy." LOL She is *totally* taken with him. She wanted to know what his "other name" was and for a minute that threw me until she said that I had two names, Mommy and Amy, and I told her I guessed it was sort of Daddy and Ian. Am I going to have to put my old Mac posters back on the walls!? - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Jul 2003 06:25:49 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas pics of mac at glasto > Were there red stage lights? Certainly it wasn't sunset! Yep, there were red stage lights, which for the first couple of songs Mac kept asking if they could be switched off as they didn't show him in the best light. From yours and Stevie's reactions, I'd say he was right! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Jul 2003 03:07:48 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas pics of mac at glasto > > Were there red stage lights? From yours and Stevie's reactions, I'd say he was right! Flashbacks from red-light districts? LOL.... thinking of the Seven Seas video here.... That's still an awful lot of red to pick up in someone's hair if it's not there already. Hmmmmm, what's Mac's colour? Black.... but doing a concert under black lights would be oh so cheesy ;-) Trust Mac to know his best light! From videos of shows seems to me that no brightly coloured light is typically used and some copious amounts of smoke/fog *are* .... maybe it's supposed to be mist, from all of the ocean and rain mentions. Random Bunnymen-related things: My brother stopped dead in his tracks while watering my plants. "Is that flower *really* called 'Lips Like Sugar'?" he asked. Yup, I said. The hybridiser, Curt Hanson, chose "Ocean Rain" as the name for his very first introduction: http://www.mohumanities.org/michael/summer/oceanrain.htm http://www.daylilysonline.com/L%20Pages/lips_like_sugar.htm Also, some serious Harry Potter geeks who are scarily resembling Star Trek fans in their rabidity discuss music, mostly BritPop, at: Quote about Radiohead: "Ah, the old The Bends vs. OK Computer. Truth be told I love both equally, but my 'favourite' fluctuates according to mood. That said, even I am not worthy to lick the gum off Thom Yorke's shoes." They do come up with some interesting lists! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #502 ********************************
