IMHO - the thing about festivals is they are great for chilling out (in the sun, hopefully) listening to the music and sharing the experience with the crowd, people watching and getting away from all the normal shit things in life. Agreed, not the best way to see/hear a band, obviously the best place for that is an intimate venue. However, with festivals it's the overall experience of everything that makes it. The size of the crowd adds to the overall experience as oppose to the size of the crowd at a godawful place like Wembley Stadium which has no soul at all. Glastonbury really is special and of course if you don't want to go to the main stages there are other tents you can go to for that more intimate experience. We are definately going to try and go next year. Last time we went was before the fence and it was reported that DOUBLE the amount of people were there that should have been. That made it a bit scarey but now they have sorted the gate crashing element things seem to be a lot more chilled out and safer now. Macy Gray just made a big boo boo - she said Glastonbury, *London*, England!!!! :-O btw - I am very peed off that the Bunnymen did not get coverage on either bbc 2 or 3 but they have shown other bands twice - grrrrrrrrrrr....and the bbc 2 coverage sometimes clashes with the bbc 3. Now if it was sport, no way would they let it clash!! hmpf......
