I know they're not what they once were, and some may not even think they were a "were" but I dig them. They haven't been to the states since '97, but I saw them in NY City that year and they put on a fantastic show. Just curious if anyone happens to see them, if they're still compelling live. One hell of an experience..... (Amy pencils in next year's holiday) (and wonders if she'll have to go in a wheelchair as she's getting OOOOOLLLLLDDDDer) Seriously, I think the banter betwixt Zak and I was misunderstood.... we both want to go (as evidenced by us saying "lucky bastards!") and are finding ways to console ourselves that we're not missing out on anything when we know damn well we are ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 12:29:18 -0500 From: "Amy Rupp" Subject: OT: seven-seas guys > They were indeed kisses, coupla drinks and I'm anyones Someone of the female persuasion once told me that the guys on seven-seas were.... ummmm.... rather .... *easy*, if you see what I mean ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 12:26:35 -0500 From: "Amy Rupp" Subject: RE: RE: seven-seas OT: Those going to Glasto, who you gonna see? :-) > I couldn't agree more..... some of you may remember that I reported > here last year that he had come highly recommended to me by an > American guy over here working, so I promptly downloaded an album of > his (I think it was called Music For The Morning After). The irony was that as Matt was downloading this, I'd just heard Pete for the first time courtesy of my sibling(s), and I knew he'd think it was awful, but I decided to let him form his own opinion, as painful as the long download via dialup was. This same idiot was commenting on English regional accents, and said that the only people in the States with a different accent were "hicks from Texas" or something like that. Yeah right. And in the final bwahahahaha arena: I told my brother and SIL last night that Echo and Pete were playing at the same time at Glasto, and asked my brother who would he choose to see? He had to take the Fifth, and my SIL got almighty pissed off. My brother then threatened to block all outbound and inbound access to all sites in the UK as well as seven-seas via the Cisco router we have at the house now, but I blew him off cos if that's done the Cisco router will be accidentally smashed by a large falling object. Ah, sibling rows.... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 20:04:45 -0400 From: Red Subject: RE: seven-seas OT: Those going to Glasto, who you gonna see? :- ) At 01:12 PM 6/25/03 -0500, you wrote: > >Jon would say "jammy bastards" I think! God Is In The House Okay...........I never thought I'd say this..... but I was disappointed in the Cave gigs! :-((((((( I think it was mostly because the sound at the venue royally SUCKED!! It really did. :-( I also didn't care for the way he changed some of the songs. I mean, I've seen him quite a few times and I've always liked most of his re-arrangements, but not this time. Red Right Hand was sluggish, but not horrible. Henry Lee was too weird....they did it way too fast and almost like Top 40 radio style. :-( And who the fuck was that annoying Chris Bailey guy??????????? Will somebunny please tell me??? It was bad enough he did his own spot right before Nick came on......but to join Nick...AND do it on Letterman too???? Nick said at the end of the 2nd night's show... "If it weren't for him none of us would be here." So who the hell is he????? (he killed Johnny Cash's tune.) (vent over) Most of the songs were okay, but I was a bit disappointed with the track selections. Not enough new stuff from the last 2 albums. was good to hear Wild World (B/day Party tune) and Into My Arms.... but some of the older tunes were a little disappointing...perhaps coz I'd heard them 5 years ago superbly done. :-( Like.......Sad Waters and Loom Of The Land, which are 2 of my very favourites. I'm glad I went, and Nick still has some kick in him..... his energy is amazing! Tupelo, Wild World and Mercy Seat were brilliant.....but I was still a bit disappointed overall. Damn. :-( Better sound probably woulda helped! Better selection of tunes definitely woulda. But I'll still go next time too! :-) Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #489 ********************************
