I've gently tried to address this subject. Not everyone here is a member of VT. It's a Yahoo! group, requiring a Yahoo! ID, and is archived. It has a culture of its own. When seven-seas-chat was set up, it was *not* meant to be a competitor to VT, but rather an adjunct to seven-seas. No Yahoo! ID, and I expressly asked that it not be archived, so that people would be freer to express their inner child ;-) (seven-seas *is*, though I don't think it's monitored by MI5 or the CIA -- yet) I am the list "owner" cos someone has to be, but I'm willing to give it up to anyone who wants it. There is absolutely no moderation, and you can post whatever the heck you want. The issue is whether or not seven-seas should be the place to hold OT conversations. The argument for that is that people not interested can either join the moderated group or get the digest format (the former to cut the crap, and the latter to reduce the number of messages received). However, both approaches have drawbacks if you wish to receive your seven-seas mail in its unmoderated glory and as soon as it hits the server. I am a member of VT, but I do not think Matt is (currently), and Peter and Rob are not. Dunno about GlastoMan ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Jun 2003 18:13:56 -0500 From: "Amy Rupp" Subject: RE: seven-seas The Art of Mac aka Mac Art(hur) > > Childbirth? Piece of cake. Well, yeah, I nearly died several times, but hey, I'm not most women. This isn't a boast: I would dearly love to have more children.... well, at this age, one more child that ISN'T KRUSTY'S! However, I will say this: times I screamed during childbirth: 0 times I've screamed on commercial flights: several times I bailed out of childbirth: 0 times I've bailed out of a commercial flight: 1 (Chicago to Austin, emergency landing in St Louis) That is how bad I hate flying. Considered the QE2, but can't take that much time away from work. My doctors say have someone go with you, and dump down the Halcyon. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jun 2003 00:17:56 +0100 From: "K.P. So before we get (once again) into the OT wars could I just remind myself and everyone else Villiers Terrace is really the place for general chit chat. I hope that's cool with everyone. I'm not having ago at anyone.....crikey you know me 'Easy as a Sunday morning' (don't say a word Matt!!!). I did know about the cathedral spire stats -- Salisbury #1, Norwich #2. I don't try to be funny. I am usually at my most entertaining (to others) when I don't mean to be. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Jun 2003 18:20:04 -0500 From: "Amy Rupp" Subject: RE: RE: OTOT seven-seas The Art of Mac aka Mac Art(hur) > Just replace Gold with Oil ;-) You don't need a magical stone for that, just a huge military machine ;-) That's all for the day, folks.... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #444 ********************************
