So before we get (once again) into the OT wars could I just remind myself and everyone else Villiers Terrace is really the place for general chit chat. I hope that's cool with everyone. I'm not having ago at anyone.....crikey you know me 'Easy as a Sunday morning' (don't say a word Matt!!!). Try the Crown Hotel, Anne. It's right on the Docks, near the Liver Building. Nice place. Cozy little bar, too. - --Chris A. Yeah, you're right - I can see the train working fine, I was thinking more of driving being an imposibility.... I had a peak at flights and wasn't too impressed with prices (nor are there many options London -> Liverpool) but Virgin Trains does good fares if booked well in advance, so that seems most feesable. It's my honey's b-day weekend and I'm being a bit selfish dragging him to 'pool for this, but... oh well. :) Anyone know of any nice yet reasonable hotels/B&Bs that I might book to make it up to him? Cheers, Anne - --- Red wrote: > At 02:43 PM 6/7/03 -0700, you wrote: > > >Ah, too true that flying might be the way to go. > >Impossible to get back for London in time, > otherwise. > > Not true......we went to the Liverpool gig and then > all the way to Portsmouth by 5 pm next night! The first 3 songs were ferocious. Such intensity, passion and power. Just before the gig I was talking about how the Tindersticks and Cave are kinda similar. The last two gigs I've been to couldn't have been less alike. Absolutely wonderful. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of K.P. Jacques Sent: 08 June 2003 02:57 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: seven-seas Nick Cave I'm probably going to by chastised for saying this but.......tonights Nick Cave gig was without a doubt the most rockingly fucking impressive gig I have ever had the extremely good fortune to attend. Furthermore I should like to go on record and say he positively made the Bunnymen look lazy, I now personally need the Bunnymen to do something 'less safe' live and move away from the 'old favs' set that we all know and love. Red I really don't want you to feel like I'm rubbing it in........but ............'FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!' I'm sure you're gonna see some positive feedback from others. The first coupla no's were performed with the audience seated and the sound was awesome. I've never felt bass go thru me like tonight cept when played by a dub reggae bassist. Then Nick told everyone they could stand up and smoke and the standing up seemed to have the effect of deadening the sound slightly......however that did not detract from the fact Nick sang and played his bollix off and the Badseeds performed like....like...The Birthday Party but in tune and slightly more organised.....it was in my mind just like exactly the kinda perfect genius the BP always tried to achieve but never attained. No Babe, I'm on fire.............well I'll let Loo tell you her news...Grrrrrrrrrrrr ;-) Mrs KP still not very well but came to gig and also stated the best she'd ever seen. - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
