One of my new coworkers is from Philly and wanted to know the name of the club where Mac played.... I can't remember! He was waxing nostalgic about Philly. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 03:38:11 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: OTOTOT seven-seas something to download... > But a load of people mentioning it ONlist won't do a damn thing, right? A load? I count two, maybe three. Certainly of concern to me, but I believe that disagreements ought to be taken offlist if possible. As to the OT: I made the comment that prompted your response as a tag line to my signature -- meaning it was something I was musing about but felt no need to have a huge discussion on. There truly is no resentment or malice on my part towards *anyone* here. If it seems that way, then either I didn't communicate well, or what I'm saying is being misunderstood. Either way, an offlist (or on, but off can work better) message about the concern allows me to fully explain. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 03:46:39 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: OT seven-seas something to download... > >I have just about *no* gross out factor. > > Wow!!! Yer kidding, right? No, I'm not. Obviously doctors and nurses can't gross out too easily or they couldn't do their jobs. I'm thinking of going back to school to become a physician's assistant (med school would be too costly plus trying to do an internship as a single parent with two kids would be a bitch.) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 03:59:55 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas something to download... > Well...........if they're so dear...then tell them in private... > coz graphic details of your childbirth do NOT interest anyone, really! > Well, maybe weirdos ... There's a huge disconnect here. If you google on "birth story" you'll see that we were very much interested in each other's stories as a way to help each other through what is a sometimes difficult and always life-changing event. At the time, the Internet was not open to the general public and we were very candid about everything, not knowing that anyone was archiving what was said (because back then, disk space was horrifically expensive and CD burners weren't out yet). Our birth stories were meant to help others know what to expect, and in some cases, to vent about a difficult birth. I know for a fact that our stories were important, because I began an FAQ on Caesarian section which is *still* found on many web sites today. I've been approached by several people who want to use it commercially. Just because something does not interest *you* doesn't mean it doesn't interest *anyone* -- and not just "weirdos." I never have, and never will, say that anything you write won't interest others, because I certainly don't *know* that, and further I respect your right to post what you please -- if you'll recall I heavily questioned banning you from seven-seas and insisted that you be allowed to return. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 04:12:32 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas something to download... > > You got lucky at *twelve* ?! > > You call 'groping' getting lucky???? > > Texas must be behind too! hahaa Getting to second base as a twelve-year-old boy would be considered lucky. But that's here and not in the UK, where perhaps things are different. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 14:06:55 +0100 From: "K.P. I'll say the same thing again........whatever! But see...this isn't a list about graphic medical childbirth issues... it's about music.....so I'm quite sure the folks who ARE interested in your graphic stories can look for them on medical lists or google if they wish....I'm sure most people here didn't come here to read that stuff. So yeah...count the 3 of us that brought it up as a little deal, at least we voiced our opinion and feel no reason to hide the fact. Or is it that you just don't want anyone 'in public' knowing that we don't wanna hear this stuff onlist?? Coz certainly most people will say nothing and then be the first to bitch when they get loads of mails filling up their inboxes. (And no, I'm not talking about Charles yesterday...I'm talking any time....coz it happens often.) And about the OT thing......of course someone is always gonna throw in comments that aren't related to the Bunnymen....but if someone replies to that comment making it the TOPIC of that mail.....that's when you're sposed to add the OT so people who aren't interested don't have to read. I'm the one that got bitched at the most for too many off topic posts....yet I'm one of the few people these days who bothers to follow these NEW IMPROVED RULES. Ha! They didn't last too damn long did they?
