Well I coulda used 'punk' but I always felt it was used too loosely in connection with the likes of Elvis Costello, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, The Stranglers...etc etc however New Wave (circa 1977 - circa 1982 at a push)covered that whole period when 'new' talents were emerging instead. Punk belonged to a group of bands that were breaking down walls of comfortable establishment rock and making tunes with little thought of future fiscal gains......I would probably call the Pistols punks (small p ) up until they met Bill Grundy.......what the heck has Chris Bailey done????....I still can't get over it being him on Saturday....argghhhhhh. New wave....Wire, The Fall, The Dammed, Blondie, Buzzcocks, Talking Heads, Richard Hell and the Voidoids.....jeez do I need to give YOU a list?? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt H" To: Sent: Monday, June 09, 2003 11:35 PM Subject: Re: Re: Re: seven-seas something to download... > >Sorry Matt but hey.......that's what new wave was invented > >for......I'm sure Henry already said that > > You don't need to apologise to me!
