Okay, which songs on _Reverberation_ do it for you? Off the top of my head, "Lost and Found" and "All My Life" are BunnyFaves, though I wouldn't class them with others.... I always think of the overplayed "Lips" and "New Direction," both of which got heavy club play in the year they were released and I was finally legal for the second time (long story, don't ask). I liked it that the Bunnymen were getting played and could yell at my friends, 'Hey this is the band I like, but this is NOT the best stuff!' > No questions asked!! > Flowers is good.......but I much prefer Evergreen! That's my knee jerk answer, but it's so clouded by the fact that I've heard _Evergreen_ sooooooo much more than the other two. Parts of it were done live on the Efix tour, and in getting the web site up we listened to it A LOT -- testing, ya know, a really hard job to test out that Bunnymen jukebox ;-) ;-) > >3) Which is the best Mac solo effort? > > > >a) Candleland > >b) Mysterio > > That ones a tough one.... > I love Candleland, but it has songs I could live without. > I also love Mysterio.............. I don't like _Mysterio_ much at all. Which narrows things down for me. Even if we included WAYGTDWYL? in this category.... I'd still be waffling between my years-old allegiance to _Candleland_ and the new _Slideling_. I *do* love the eponymous track on WAYGTDWYL? and there are some other moments, but.... I was *hugely* disappointed when _Mysterio_ came out, and I guess that tempered my expectations of _Slideling_. Hmmm, I wonder if those who love _Mysterio_ don't care for _Slideling_ and the converse? - --Amy, currently listening to "I Want To Be There When You Come," which is supposed to be a #4 song -- devotion, self-abandon ( promise? or do they mean self-abandonment, which is soooo boring?), and attaining balance (between what?). It's in the _HUH_ Earth group -- strange, but that group contains the most of my favourites.... despite having no _Ocean Rain_! I guess I'll run out of musk incense before the other sorts ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 01 Jun 2003 23:27:09 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Ramblings At 11:07 PM 6/1/03 -0400, you wrote: >That ones a tough one.... >I love Candleland, but it has songs I could live without. >I also love Mysterio.............. Just as long as they don't grab their crotch. Ian, I love ya, but that's a bit much.... > > Rush would *NEVER* do that to their fans -- > > *rolls eyes* > > I really hate PERFECT bands!!! > They usually make people who love REAL music sick! hahahhaaa I think I have two heads or something. IT IS possible to like both bands, but ..... Rush is in this class that's so completely different than Echo or other bands ..... can't explain it but Rush evoke a completely different mood and mindset. Definitely NOT noose music, and not particularly emotional. Okay to listen to even when your heart is in pieces, which I can't say about some of the Echo stuff. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 2003 22:18:27 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas Ramblings > >That ones a tough one.... > >I love Candleland, but it has songs I could live without. > >I also love Mysterio.............. > > When I'm in a Mac 'solo' mood that is.... > But I mostly prefer the Bunnymen...and rarely play the solo stuff. Les really needs to release a solo album, eh? :-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 2003 22:25:24 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: seven-seas reviews page Have y'all seen: http://www.iq451.com/music/echo-and-the-bunnymen.htm Does anyone have or know of reviews of the Fab Four *when they were released*? I'd give my left nut to read those (easy for me to say, I know ;-)). Why do guys get all the good phrases? Last night I was thinking of all the downloading some of us have been doing, and the phrase "cheap bastard" came to mind. Couldn't think of a female equivalent, and certainly not a *feminine* one.... - --Amy "I shoulda been born a guy" "But that'd make me a faggot!"
