It's the coastal resort bit that's posh. ;-) Of course, every time I think of an English coastal town I think of "Everyday is Like Sunday" -- it reminds me of what someone said of a Suffolk coastal town: "it's fun.... well, as much fun as you can have on the North Sea!" Judging from all the hillbilly cracks, I would guess cider isn't posh, but everyone certainly seems to like it. I have this mental image of Somerset based upon what I've heard, and it's pretty funny. I keep threatening to write a travelogue, though I have to *GO* there first in order to be taken seriously ;-) If someone kidnapped me and drove me round blindfolded they'd be sadly disappointed because I'd know my way. Give me a cell phone and I'd have a pretty darned good direction finder, screw GPS. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 May 2003 12:35:06 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas mac article > >I guess I still don't understand why Mac left the Bunnymen. > > ego? I guess, but .... I've thought the same ego might've caused one of the others to quite first. Perhaps that's what Pete was trying to do but couldn't accomplish. I think his ego was hyperinflated by the available drink, drugs and women. Now that it's harder to score ;-) (or is it?) I wonder if his ego has diminished any? Nah. Probably not. :-) "Leggo of my ego!" Dunno.....haven't checked Sainsbury's to see if they sell those there....but....they don't have mashed potatoes at KFC!!!!!!! :-O Still can't get over that one. (I've only been in a KFC once in the last 20 years.... just to check and make sure we haven't started selling chips at ours! We haven't.) heehee Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 May 2003 13:05:45 -0500 (CDT) From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: more OT: Re: seven-seas mac article > >Judging from all the hillbilly cracks, I would guess > >cider isn't posh, > > That was my point! > They make it in Somerset! But they also make Cheddar cheese and wonderful shoes, though the juxtaposition of cheese and shoes makes my nose wrinkle ;-) I figure that it's probably like most places: some people love it, others would run screaming from it, and some would just get by. It does have its share of odd place names though, like Yeovil. No clue how that one is pronounced, but I read it as "Yo-ville" as in the town where everyone does nothing but say "hi" all day. There are places like that here, mostly full of older people. When I was over at the Mormon church I was looking at this family tree where someone had traced their line back to Jesus (of course). Well -- they were obviously cousins since He did not have children. At any rate, there was this ornamental square in the middle talking about how Joseph of Arimethea went to England after Jesus died thus setting up a mighty Christian English kingdom including King Arthur. (smacks forehead) Of course! Stu, the guy has that Mother Of All Crosses because the great unwashed pissers at gigs are desecrating the Holy Land! GOD I want to be in Somerset. Can't rattle the cage right now though. Trust me on this one. (Hmmm, and whose cage?) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 May 2003 23:08:41 +0100 From: "K.P.
