God, and I thought *I* had it bad with a 2.5 hour delivery! :-) (that's a lot of pushing!) - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 May 2003 19:26:19 EDT From: Iangeannapeter@aol.com Subject: Re: seven-seas avalanche re-release. Is it not a tad expensive? Surely as fans we have the original and the E/fix 7" or can trade. Considering a new album from cdwow or similar is nine quid what benefit do we get? Yes, this is actually one of the real deals; started Saturday and is already in 69 countries though how that got counted I dunno :-) I love to trash Microshite so would never read it anyway. Somehow the PC has turned into naught but a KaZaA and WinMX server/client and everything else I do on the iBook! I am no longer a member of the seven seas list. I just don't have time to go through all that 'list' stuff, but have re-subbed today just to address this "Avalanche" issue. Steve. I have not been silent on this. You just haven't chosen to read the communications I made via other channels. Echo and The Bunnymen have the system in place via the newspage of their website and via their newsletter to deliver the information to the fans. We serve a community of over 3500 registered users with the newsletter, and as most members of the seven-seas list are on to that as well, they had the answers delivered to their in-box on 24 April. On 31 March, I received this brief e-mail from Pete and Peasy: ivan we're ready to put avalanche up !! so - can you please put it in the shop - price 10 GBP (plus p&p). From that, I assumed that the CDs had been pressed and were ready to ship. I found out several weeks (and two hundred orders) after Pete and Peasy asked me to put the CDs on sale, that they hadn't been pressed yet, that essentially, everyone had pre-ordered the CD. The following is from the news page of Bunnymen.com, and was included in the newsletter on the same day.: "Avalanche update posted Thursday, 24 April, 2003 "Thanks to all who've placed orders for the "Avalanche +" CD. It's my understanding that there's been a delay in the artwork, and that they should be ready to ship in the next few weeks... We thank you for your patience, and will let you know when we've started shipping." This waiting is a pain for me too. And, as it's my name on the paypal account, a lot of people have pointed the finger at me as being responsible for not receiving this, and any other order they might have placed. Management have all the orders up to yesterday, and all the money for those orders. As of last Friday, Management are still awaiting delivery of the CDs. Any other information I get on this matter will be dispensed via the newsletter, If you're not subscribed to the newsletter, the same info is provided via the news page at the band's website, located at http://www.bunnymen.com - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
