Shaz! ROTFLMAO! Can I be Nurse Ratchett? :-) (tallies another vote for HUH on behalf of Shaz and wonders what Ted will choose!) The only way to get a man to commit to one thing is to have him by the .... testicles! - --Amy, sigh, my vote's for _Ocean Rain_ forever, and my SIL, the Pete Yorn fan who's moving in with me, thinks my brother and the rest of us on seven-seas are a bunch of sad old tossers. She laughs at my brother and his Honda S2000 going 100 mph and blaring things she connects to the 80s. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 May 2003 17:43:46 -0500 From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: seven-seas Email withdrawal There's been a fibre cut in / near Boston that has prevented me from accessing my main email account. ChrisA, can you please go kick their asses into gear? This sucks! If any of you are trying to mail friends anywhere in the US, they may be affected by this cut. My *lawyer's* office, on a separate ISP and just across town, was also affected. I also know blueyonder in the UK has gone down under 1.2 million spam messages and mail delivery to anyone there is also iffy. - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 May 2003 17:51:57 -0500 From: Amy Moseley Rupp Subject: Re: seven-seas Rolling Stone review On Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at 06:45 AM, K. And I don't remember any sunglasses and trench coats, he would've looked like a spook! Is the reviewer possibly thinking of the Grey Album, cos I don't recall any grey trench coats, either, only black; and the Grey Album is not yet twenty. No, Macca's singular contribution has always been his HAIR, and he'd be the first to tell you so! Does anyone ever fact check this stuff? (laughs) Well since I don't have any testicles, I'm safe to have them both :-) Besides, this is a SOLO album, why not compare it to the same? ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 May 2003 00:10:28 +0100 From: "Shaz" Subject: seven-seas Re: [villiers-terrace] Slideling When I first heard Sliding (the single) I thought it was very weak but it's a grower and I like it now.... I thought Love in Veins was the best song when I first heard it - I love the happy vibe to it.... but now my favourites are Kansas (especially after hearing it live in Colchester) High Wire - Good time Lou stuff for Pinky!! :-)))) Stake Your Claim - I like the way it chugs along and the Cure sounding bit... Seasons - I love the typical Mac lyrics - 'Running out of time, it's half past yours and mine' and 'waiting up ahead the night sky's turning Red, too far out to hear the warning, as the day falls black there's no turning back, I'm sailing half-mast through the morning'. and I like all the others but I don't think I like the 'live and die with me' bit on Arthur but the vocal is lovely on the rest of it and Baby Hold On is a good crooner song. I also like the change of tempo through-out Another Train. Mac looks a bit queasy on that roundabout though ;-) Shaz From: Turquoise Daffodil To: villiers-terrace@yahoogroups.com Sent: Monday, April 28, 2003 2:13 PM Subject: [villiers-terrace] Slideling Just got it. It's very good. I think the first track, Love In Veins, is the weakest (still okay), but after that it quickly rises to a series of highlights: Arthur, Seasons, Another Train, High Wires. But the absolute top song has to be Kansas. Great artwork in the booklet too. I'm happy! Any other opinions yet? Tijn Yahoo! Groups Sponsor *********************************** (HAPPY?)
