Tacking stuff on later fundamentally changes the work, and generally not for the better. Personally, I think some of the very best Bunnymen/McCulloch songs are among the b-sides. But I like them on their own little cds. - - K :) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 16:44:21 +0100 From: "stevie g" Subject: seven-seas mac on jonathan woss http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/ yesterdays show is archived. stevie g. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 16:45:47 +0100 From: "stevie g" Subject: re:- Re: seven-seas Fw: mac on jonathan woss yes! - ''sliding''. >Subject: Re: seven-seas Fw: mac on jonathan woss >Is this this weekend's show, Steve ? ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 13:56:49 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: seven-seas Slideling and Bunnymix -- my kids pick.... I have advance stuff from Ian's solo album (which I fully intend to buy) burned onto a disk. I couldn't quickly change the track order and I was in a hurry, so it starts with Sliding, then Kansas, then the rest of the album in more or less the correct order -- "Sliding" is repeated as track three, but Kansas isn't repeated. It finishes with Matt's MK1 Tribute Bunnymix, which is track 13. I had this playing in the car on the way to pick up my eldest, and looked over and noticed it was on track 13 (it was turned all the way down) so I turned it up a bit. The track finished, and I'd just about forgotten I wasn't alone in the car, when a little voice piped up from the back, "Play that song again, Mama." My kids *still* prefer that mix to the rest of the BunnyStuff. ACK. I need more remixes, guys, or I'm doomed to hear *one song* over and over again. My eldest doesn't like music much, but the youngest does :-) - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 20:24:37 +0100 From: "Matt H" Subject: Re: seven-seas Slideling and Bunnymix -- my kids pick.... >My kids *still* prefer that mix to the rest of the BunnyStuff. >ACK. I'm dead proud of it....'specially as it was the first time I'd even looked at Acid Pro. I'm with you there.....especially in the 90's. The Electrafixion, Evergreen and Rust b-sides are up there with the best stuff they've ever done. The kids have heard Echo before, of course, and they didn't know anything was different about the mix you did, but they glommed onto it straightaway. There are eleven other songs on that album. I have one smart 3.5 year old. She informed me in an adult voice that I had missed a turn and was going to Lauren's house instead of Heidi's. And she was right. This was right after she requested I put it back on Bunnymix. She sits there and sucks her thumb thoughtfully until the song is over, then requests it again. This is the kid who heard the neighbours in the back yard and started yelling, "Hi! Hi! I'm from ENG---LAND!" (She's never been told that!) And my eldest, when she was six, around the time Princess Diana was killed, went to school and announced that her cousin Princess Diana had sent her a present. (Errrrr, no.) My eldest asked me last night, "Mom, if you won a trip somewhere, say to LONDON, who would you take with you if you could only take one person?" (sigh) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 17:33:19 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: Re: seven-seas Suspect > >Personally, I think some of the very best Bunnymen/McCulloch > >songs are among the b-sides. > > I'm with you there.....especially in the 90's. Wasn't on the album. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #208 ********************************
