I'd prefer a longer and less frequent digest because it's easier for me to skim through, I know some will say that it takes no longer to skim through multiple digests but for me it seems to (sue me, I'm weird) maybe we should put it to a vote for those who are on the digest if the list admin is agreeable if he/she/it is (and please wait until they give the nod) the choice is a) leave the digest as it is or b) longer digests even if they are less frequent paul _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail messages direct to your mobile phone http://www.msn.co.uk/mobile ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Apr 2003 20:01:04 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas-digest V2 #192 At 11:47 PM 4/24/03 +0000, you wrote: >miserable git :-)), it just doesn't float my boat and also being on the >digest there's no way for me to be involved in a timely manner and not >wanting or able to be involved often is one of the reasons I chose the >digest option. > >I'd prefer a longer and less frequent digest Try seven-seas-moderated! Yeah, but apparently a lot of cooks DON'T. Leaving them flabby, and thus giving rise to another meaning of the term: someone plump or flabby. Norfolk dumpling \Norfolk dumpling\ (Eng.) (a) A kind of boiled dumpling made in Norfolk. (b) A native or inhabitant of Norfolk. Does dumpling have the "sweetie pie" connotation over there that it does here? Or does it always mean someone fat? I suppose there is a way to find out! As to recipes, I found several, some which used suet and some which didn't. (We do NOT eat suet here, ick ick ick. That's for the birds, quite literally.) Native = nativity = born. Matt's Stockport born and Norwich bred (mostly). But besides, I've found that a lot of what people love or hate or KNOW is really based upon where their *mum* is from. If she was the cook around the place. What's amazing is that I've lived only two places in my life, 200 miles apart, but this being America and Texas, there's far less difference in food/culture/whatever than a similar move would bring in England. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Apr 2003 22:00:11 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Back on Sevenseas and Ian'snew album At 04:20 PM 4/24/03 -0500, you wrote: > I think liking any of the Bunnymen albums more than OR is >a bit suspect.... No it's just a name (normally fondly used, well with a smile anyway) The person referred to doesn't have to be fat. > As to recipes, I found several, some which used suet and some which > didn't. Matt's Stockport born and Norwich bred I always thought that was something to do with Jesus and Bethlehem and all that jazz. As far as I know Stockport isn't the new Bethlehem and Norwich isn't the new Nazareth............and as far as I know the closest Matt gets to Messiah is Mess ;-) > (mostly). Yeh the differences thru the UK time zones is amazing in my zone (Eastern farmer time) we tend to eat mainly root crop vegetables during the winter with a little cereal from may to September. In the bleak (Tizgrimupt North) Their main fair is a diet of chips and beer ( a normal pint being 0.5 - 0.75 of a pint of beer with the balance made up of head ) In the west (yakker zone) The mainstay is to root about for acorns or grubs. Of course when Johnny Foreigner comes visiting we get out the old Fish and chips and curry and kebabs .....and friggin High Tea just for a larf...coz we loikes a larf. - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
