The Bunnymen along with Joy Division and U2 helped define the sound of the post -punk scene in the early 80'2. Their classic comeback album 1997's Evergreen proved they had lost none of the fire that helped them win Q magazines "Inspiration Award" recently. With the band on hiatus McCulloch went into the studio to create an album which he describes as "the first I've made solo-wise where I'm happy with the reasons why I'm doing it and with the way it turned out". Stand out tracks include the deceptively hooky Slideling and tyhe anthemic Seasons. Fans Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland of Coldplay both feature, as does actor John Simm fresh from playing Joy Division's Bernard Sumner im 24 Hour Party People. __________________________________________________________________________ Join Freeserve http://www.freeserve.com/time/ Winner of the 2003 Internet Service Providers' Association awards for Best Unmetered ISP and Best Consumer Application. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Apr 2003 17:10:04 -0700 From: Charles Pham Subject: seven-seas Ian McCulloch Tour Support Not sure if there's a full tour support for Ian McCulloch, but according to the Slim's site, Metric will be opening the SF show. Metric are soooo goood. I've seen them around here in LA 3 times already, and they blew me away. They're from NY & Toronto and moved to LA about a year ago. think they just signed a record deal recently. Metric's a 4-piece band, female singer. The singer reminds me of Souxsie Soux & Winona Ryder. The soundclips on their site aren't a good representation of what they're really like, though. they're great live. so if the Slim's listing is true, be sure to get to the gig early, they're worth it. http://www.ilovemetric.com/main.html Charles Pham Web Producer charlesp@eonline.com 323.692.4676 p 323.273.1550 c 323.692.6565 f E!
