This is top news if, like me, you like Killing Joke. I've also been told that both Raven and Youth are going to be playing on the new LP - ----------------------------- DAVE GROHL is to play drums on the new album from KILLING JOKE. The Foo Fighters frontman will appear on the record, which has a working title of 'Axis Of Evil', and due out in the summer, according to Billboard magazine. The pairing is said to have come together because of Grohl's love of the veteran band. He met bandmember Jaz Coleman in New Zealand earlier this year, when Foo Fighters were on the Big Day Out tour. Coleman joined Foo Fighters onstage in Auckland, where they performed the Killing Joke classic 'Requiem'. Following that meeting, the pair agreed to work together. - ----------------------------- ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 06:56:34 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas Life In The European Theatre > Not bad for a couple of quid huh? So Raj, how's this for a job idea? Instead of boring old antique furniture ;-) why not be a television presenter for antique vinyl? Our age group is coming up on the nostalgia craze (if we weren't there already) :-) Do you have a show like Antiques Roadshow wherein people buy a painting at a garage/boot sale for like $2 and it turns out to be worth $20,000? :-) Do the same for vinyl :-) - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:57:04 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas GROHL IN ON THE JOKE! >This is top news if, like me, you like Killing Joke. I've also been told >that both Raven and Youth are going to be playing on the new LP I remember posting here a couple of years ago when we listing top 5 all-time favourite songs, that Love Like Blood was my number one.....this is fantastic news. I was only saying a couple of days ago what a fucking genius Dave Grohl is! Wonder if Raven and Youth will alternate songs, or whether there'll be TWO bassists at the same time.....should be an interesting sound! Any word on Geordie Walker's involvement? ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 12:59:33 +0100 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas Life In The European Theatre >Do you have a show like Antiques Roadshow >wherein people buy a painting at a garage/boot sale for like $2 >and it turns out to be worth $20,000? Hell yes, only it's far more entertaining when they've bought it from an antiques dealer for 20,000 and it turns out to be worth fuck all..... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 13:40:27 +0100 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: RE: seven-seas Life In The European Theatre Had this idea for a record shop for many years and got to the stage where I found a site in Ealing about 5-6 years ago but I was too lazy and earning too much in IT to go ahead with it. We do have several Antique shows like the one you mentioned, it's kinda what we do at the shop I work at except all the stock is donated and people like myself price the stuff. We use the Record Collector book as our reference and take at least 1/3 off their price. Working in this shop has given me the urge to follow through my idea and the next few weeks may be significant.
