I think she's presenting a documentary series on BBC3 or BBC4 on architecture. Her father was an architect ; he designed the Centrepoint monstrosity off Tottenham Court Road, London. - -- Barry - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk __________________________________________________________________________ Join Freeserve http://www.freeserve.com/time/ Winner of the 2003 Internet Service Providers' Association awards for Best Unmetered ISP and Best Consumer Application. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 11:06:59 +0100 From: "Steve Hodson" Subject: RE: seven-seas Be Afraid................... >> I don't know how the channels break down into interest groups, but > I do notice that Eastenders is on, and a special on Robbie Williams > (cough). "Go Home Da Ali G Show" screamed the headline in the Washington Post when this series was shown there recently. Perhaps they took exception to his remark that he was there to help the US with some of the problems following "7/11". Certainly the interviewees - serious heavyweights such as Newt Gingrich, Raph Nader, UN mediator James Baker and former CIA director R James Woolsey - were totally floored by his unconventional questions but then, of course, that's what makes it so funny. There were no preview tapes available at the time of writing but we are assured that the white, suburban would-be-black-streetwise-gansta-rapper that is Sacha Baron Cohen's alter-ego hasn't changed at all. The yellow wrap around shades, Tommy Hilfiger skull hat and excessive "bling" are still there, so are the jaw-droppingly insensitive remarks. To whet your appetite we hear that he suggests to former US Attorney General Richard Thorberg that condemned prisoners should ask for an all-you-can-eat-buffet as their last meal because "Den u just keep eatin' an' dey can't kill u!". And, when hearing from a police officer that a Honda is the easiest car to break into, responds with "So for da young kids hout dere would u recommend dem startin' wiv a Honda den?" Maximum respect, Ali. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #135 ********************************
