I loved the movie. I haven't enjoyed a movie that much since Momento. That said, I believe the song was inserted as a bid of foreshadowing. "The killing moon will come too soon. Fate.." We all know the lyric. The lyrics are the basic premise of the movie in a nutshell (more or less). I don't think it was intended for mood. Moody though the song is. It's just there to give clues and help tell the story. If you haven't seen this film, do so! Now! I purchased a copy just last night for US$10. Plus it's great to see a demented image of a 6 foot rabbit. - -Mike Regime change begins at home. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Ted Turner Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 3:10 PM To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas donnie darko pretty bright for dawn.....just didnt fit...but that was the effect wanted i think..... <---------------------------------------------------> Ted Turner: UWSA/CKUW 95.9 FM Advertising & Sponsorship Manager Ph: 204 786 9779 *** Fx: 204 783 7080 Room 0R32 - University of Winnipeg 515 Portage Ave Winnipeg MB Canada R3B 2E9 tturner2@uwinnipeg.ca www.theuwsa.ca www.ckuw.org <---------------------------------------------------> Rates/specs: CKUW - www.ckuw.org/ratecard.jpg Stylus - www.ckuw.org/stylusrates.pdf Uniter - http://www.uwinnipeg.ca/~uwsaweb/Uniterrates_page_1.htm Handbook- www.ckuw.org/UWSA_handbook.jpg - www.ckuw.org/Handbook_Specs. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Schwartzberg" To: Sent: Tuesday, March 11, 2003 06:31 PM Subject: RE: seven-seas donnie darko > it was still 'night'.... it was around dawn > > Scott > > > - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Date: Sat, 8 Mar 2003 16:55:12 -0600 > > From: "Ted Turner" > > Subject: Re: seven-seas donnie darko > > > > killing moon during the day seems wrong tho....unless that was > > non/sub-effect the director was after, which was probably the > case.......tt > > > > > > From: "Ivan Smith" > > To: > > Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 06:00 PM > > Subject: seven-seas donnie darko > > > > > > > There is a new art house opened in liverpool called "FACT". > > > The address is : 88, Wood Street in the centre of town, and it's > showing > > > "Donnie Darko" this Saturday 3/8. > > > It's a Ben & Jerry's night, free ice cream on arrival. > > > It dosn't give a time so if anyone's interested in seeing it ( it's > > brilliant) > > > they can check the web-site out or phone. > > > > > > So "Killing Moon" at the beginning of the movie and free ice cream. > > > Can't be bad. > > > web-site www.fact.co.uk > > > Tel : 0151 707 4450 > > > > > > > > > > > > ====================================== > > > http://www.bunnymenlist.com > > > > > > ====================================== > > > > > > > > ====================================== > > http://www.bunnymenlist.com > > > > ====================================== > > > > ------------------------------ > > > > End of seven-seas-digest V2 #66 > > ******************************* > > > > ====================================== > http://www.bunnymenlist.com > > ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Mar 2003 09:52:14 -0500 From: "Chris Adams" Subject: RE: seven-seas donnie darko I think it's a great flick: creepy, weird, thought-provoking, sensitive, and vaguely absurd.
