From NME.com http://www.nme.com/news/104399.htm: THE GREAT BIG NO! PAUL WELLER, FAITHLESS, IAN McCULLOCH, EVAN DANDO and MICHAEL MOORE are amongst those confirmed for EMILY EAVIS' 'ONE BIG NO' anti-war gig. As previously reported on NME.COM, Emily, daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael, has been planning an anti-war show. An intimate gig at the London Shepherds Bush Empire is now confirmed for March 15. The event will take on a similar feel to her recent 'Make Trade Fair' charity gig at the London Astoria, where each artist performed acoustic sets, with an emphasis on collaborations. Ian McCulloch is billed as performing with a 'secret special guest', as is Weller. Speaking exclusively to NME.COM, Emily said that organising the show has been one of the most difficult things she's ever had to do. "It's not been swimming against the tide, it's been swimming against the tidal wave!" she joked of the gig, which was originally planned for the much larger Millennium Dome and then Wembley Arena. "Bands generally will speak out against (the war), but getting a performance is a very different thing. They want to keep a foot on the right side of America. It's been a real struggle. "It's so important to act now, and not let apathy, or even worse, resignation set in. It's going to be a unique night of collaborations and one-off appearances, with some very special unannounced guests and acoustic sets, as well as short speeches and video messages." Ticket proceeds will go to the Stop The War Coalition and CND Visit NME.COM next week for more details on the line-up. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2003 06:25:09 -0800 From: "Ivan Smith" Subject: seven-seas Earls Court tix to be released for sale Just got word that more tickets for Coldplay's Earls Court gigs (with Mac as support) are to be released within the next 24 hours... http://www.gigsandtours.com/index.asp?link=coldplay&site=coldplay ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2003 09:12:29 -0800 From: "Ivan Smith" Subject: seven-seas Mac's "peace concert" quote Asked about his participation in the event, which is organized by Emily Eavis and Lily Sobhani, Mac said "Everybody's talking 'bout Bushism, Blairism, Saddamism.
