I think it still would've sold out no matter.... but this is quite a blow.....I told Loo earlier that it was sorta like Les leaving the band but more on the level of say, Will quitting.... not that Les wasn't as important....I'm his biggest fan afterall! ;-) But Blixa is just as irreplaceable as Will would be. :-( Very sad. P.S. Hey Raj...you can throw things at Loo.... but I'll be able to throw things at EVERYBUNNY!!!! hahahhahaahhahahahhaaaaa!!!! ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Mar 2003 22:23:06 -0600 (CST) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas-moderated SXSW? > I got free bracelets when I was down there (worked at a cd store while > at UT).... Which store? :-) AFAIK there are no closed gigs -- meetings, showcases and the like yes, but not the club gigs that are advertised to the public. There are many people who don't get bracelets or badges that go to some of the events, and having a badge doesn't get you preferential entry to any of the gigs -- it's first come, first serve. This is one city where the music lovers would riot in the streets if gigs were private ;-) many of the bands are local, and depend upon the support of the local club goers to survive. We may have lost a lot in our growth, but the day SXSW gigs become closed to the general public is the day I know Austin has *really* died. If anyone would like a list of the bands, I have cut and pasted it into one file -- over 1,000 bands, but hey, I need to know who to go see!!!! :-) - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #62 *******************************
