Very, very good. Tongue-in-cheek and not at all pretentious given that it's got a Factory catalogue number. The actor as Ian Curtis is eerily authentic. Looking forward to watching it again with added "benefit" of Tony Wilson's commentary. I've almost forgotten how bad "Velvet Goldmine" was. - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 8 Feb 2003 00:51:38 -0000 From: "Barry Whiting" Subject: Re: seven-seas Ultimate Celtic Album - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Adams" > Yeah, usually football records are horrific-- ...with the exception of "Half Man, Half Biscuit" -- all of whom's footie records are unequivocally ace. One fellow had on a big, bright red jacket with "Liverpool FC" on the back. On my way out I introduced myself -- turns out he's an American who enjoys footie. We talked about that day's win at West Ham (which we'd both watched). While I was watching it, it struck me -- I'll bet the reason men's hair seems to be shorter in England (on average) is that it rains a lot. The longer-haired players suffered more from that scraggly look than did the ones with buzz cuts when the rain came down. In the cooler weather we've been having, shepherd's pie made a good dinner! - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #35 *******************************
