I mean, if yr at the match, singing along can be fun, I'd guess...but otherwise... I still harbor a crush on Clare Grogan, just cos of the Altered Images records. That sad? Yes. Yes I am. - -C "Michael Johnston" Sent by: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org 07-Feb-2003 10:37 AM Please respond to seven-seas To: cc: Subject: Re: seven-seas Ultimate Celtic Album Only heard the single and its not something I'd choose to listen to again, weak throw-away pop. From the Mac point of view its only for those who must have everything he has recorded. I'd forgotten about YNWA, they recorded the crowd before one of the matches to be included on the CD. The song (traditionally associated with Liverpool FC) has been adopted by Celtic and is sung at most home games - 60,000 voices and a sea of green and white, sends a shiver down your spine. As for the rest of the CD, I have no idea what its like. Clare Grogan (Altered Images) might be on it, she was 'singing' at half-time a couple of months ago. M. >>> Chris_Adams@BIOGEN.COM 02/07/03 03:15pm >>> Yeah, I think Mac was part of "The Celtic Chorus"--not sure if he sang, played guitar, or what. If I recall correctly, there's also a version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" on the album, but I don't know if Mac's on that or not. I haven't heard any of it--is the record any good? - --Chris A. He also appears briefly a couple of times in the video for the single. I'm not certain, but I think I also saw Will in one of the shots - they played the video on the big screens at Celtic Park a couple of times last year. Shane and Owen Paul(?) also attempted a performance of 'Best Days...' at half time one week, not sure how live it was. M. >>> anders.domstedt@telia.com 02/07/03 02:33pm >>> I have the mentioned album and it says that one Ian McCulloch is featured. The album is for Celtic Football Club. Other featured artists are Shane McGowan and Huey (FLC). Does anyone know what Ian does on the album ? He hasn`t got a song of his own but my guess is that is he singing some background vocals on some of the tracks. /Anders ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Feb 2003 19:38:14 -0000 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: RE: seven-seas Ultimate Celtic Album I'm sure many an 80's teenage lad 'knocked one out' to their Altered Images posters. The song (traditionally associated with Liverpool FC) has been adopted by Celtic Not quite true. The song, from the musical Carousel, was first heard on the terraces of Celtic Football Club in the 1950's. When Gerry & The Pacemakers recorded it in the 1960's, it used to be played regularly before matches at Anfield. They forgot to play it one week but the crowd sang it anyway ; it's been adopted ever since. - -- Barry - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 8 Feb 2003 00:33:00 -0000 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: RE: seven-seas Ultimate Celtic Album And was also a song heard on Manc terraces before LFC got hold of it!!!!! - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Barry Whiting Sent: 08 February 2003 00:18 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas Ultimate Celtic Album - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Johnston" > I'd forgotten about YNWA, they recorded the crowd before one of the matches to be included on the CD.
