The computer makes the association and puts a picture of that application's icon next to the file name of media of that type. So your computer has been told "when I see an .mp3 file, launch RealPlayer to play it." I would suggest Winamp over RealPlayer, or Windows Media Player which comes with at least Windows XP. You can *choose* which application to open a given file with by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "Open with...." and you can see what kind of file it is (as best the computer knows) by selecting Properties. - --Amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Jan 2003 23:34:51 -0000 From: "Barry Whiting" Subject: Re: seven-seas what's up over there musically??!?? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amy Moseley Rupp" > I know lots of you are anticipating Ian's solo gigs, but has there > been anything released yet this year worth mentioning? Go get the new Nick Cave album off any P2P network. It's majestic. They built Pyramids for less. - -- Barry - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 08:47:10 -0000 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: RE: seven-seas what's up over there musically??!?? >Go get the new Nick Cave album off any P2P network. Alternatively, try Massive Attack's forthcoming album, 100th Window. Stunning, is all I can say. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V2 #12 *******************************
