Champaign/Springfield, IL > 39. Waco, TX So taking off the mid-to-northern Atlantic coastal cities and cities within 300 miles of the same, as well as Chicago, Las Vegas (forgot about that one!) and Phoenix, I'm left with the above... three cities served by playing Dallas, and with a bit of a haul from Florida, another three served by playing Atlanta. I left in a curiosity... Champaign-Urbana - Springfield... this is undoubtedly the U of I at Urbana-Champaign students heavy influence, because this is an fairly small market. Likewise our UT students are another influence. That's the mistake Electrafixion made -- they came in the summer when the student population drops precipitously, and it was *damn hot* that day (100 F). I am *really* curious about Waco -- home (grave?) of David Koresh and Baylor University, probably the largest Southern Baptist university in the country -- the fundies went apeshit when Baylor allowed dancing on campus in the last decade, but still no alcohol... it's gotta be the students, but Southern Baptist Bunnyfolk?!!! Austin's the second most-wired (on the Internet) city in the country, but Waco is certainly not! - --Amy =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= New Choices! *seven-seas or seven-seas-moderated Questions? mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Sep 2002 14:14:27 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Oh, and somethinstrange.... ;-) At 10:58 AM 9/6/02 -0700, you wrote: >Keep us posted on this info Ivan. >I want to see how Philly does in the next month! OK, I'm gonna indulge myself: There's a commercial for Pace picante sauce (salsa) in which several old grizzled cowboys are sitting around a campfire at night. Someone picks up an empty salsa bottle and looks at the camp chef (who's looking scared) and incredulously says: "This stuff's made in New York City." The surprised gang of vaqueros choruses: "NEW YORK CITY!?" The guy with his hat drawn lowest, sitting in the darkest shade, says in a sinister tone, "Get a rope...." I'll BET that they *don't* show that up Nawth.... ;-) - --Amy (Pace is made in San Antonio) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= New Choices! *seven-seas or seven-seas-moderated Questions? mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Sep 2002 13:20:25 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas Oh, and somethinstrange.... ;-) > Isn't that invasion of privacy????? For marketing purposes it's done all the time. If you come to my web site, it faithfully logs your IP address -- and in fact, it could log more, like your user name, which browser you're using, etc. Of course, you could spoof all but the IP, so that's what tends to be logged. It's best to remember that there is nothing private about the Internet. One can hope for it, one can demand it, but one *cannot* depend on it. - --Amy =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= New Choices! *seven-seas or seven-seas-moderated Questions? mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Sep 2002 14:24:50 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Oh, and somethinstrange.... ;-) At 01:08 PM 9/6/02 -0500, you wrote: >and it was *damn hot* that day (100 F).
