I'd like to see Martin Carr collaborate with the Bunnys.. I think he and Will could create some top stuff, especially if his last album is anything to go by. May be a bit too experimantal for Mac ?? With regards to venues, we have "The best chamber music acoustic in Britain" here in St. Georges Church ( also has a recording studio often used by the BBC). Literally a stone's throw from where the Bunnies played their first Bristol show, and has seen gigs by the likes of Bjork and Elvis Costello. Lovely venue.. we could all wear tuxedos and drink red wine beforehand whilst playing a relaxing game of conkers on nearby Brandon Hill .... I'll get me coat.. Happy New Year, Stu Peter Burnand wrote: .... Though I was thinking weirdness more in the context of future Bunnymen recorded offerings to the great insatiable public dat we is. But maybe also something unashamedly anthemy with driller-killer-fuzz-riff installed. Hesitate to mention the name Kingbird, but perhaps the Bunnymen (majestic as they still are) need the likes of Ian Broudie; another head on the same level to bounce their ideas off. - --------------------------------- Yahoo! Seal Covers Echo And The Bunnymen On 50 First Dates Soundtrack Sacrilege! Seal Covers Echo And The Bunnymen On 50 First Dates Soundtrack Monday January 05, 2004 @ 04:00 PM By: ChartAttack.com Staff Black Eyed Peas With 80s retro mania still running wild at dance clubs everywhere, its inevitable that more and more bands are covering Reagan-era hits. Movie soundtracks are especially rife with the 80s covers back in 2001 the Not Another Teen Movie soundtrack featured gems like Good Charlottes cover of OMDs "If You Leave" and Goldfingers take on Nenas "99 Red Balloons," and Canadians Lillix covered The Romantics "What I Like About You" for last years Freaky Friday soundtrack. Now, the people behind the upcoming 50 First Dates are capitalizing on the Not Another Teen Movie formula with another all 80s covers comp, although this time around the list of artists isnt quite as hip (if you can call Good Charlotte and Goldfinger hip). The soundtrack, which will hit stores on February 3 courtesy of Maverick records, features a bunch of new and veteran artists, some of whom were active in the 80s, paying homage to the classics. Big names on the soundtrack include UB40 (yes, the band that built their career butchering covers like Neil Diamonds"Red Red Wine" and Sonny And Chers "I Got You Babe") doing The Polices "Every Breath You Take," Ziggy Marley taking a crack at The Cars "Drive," Wyclef Jean and Eve coming together on The Outfields "Your Love" and 311 playing The Cures "Love Song." Jason Mraz does Modern Englishs "I Melt With You," Sugar Rays Mark McGrath chimes in with The Psychedelic Furs "Ghost In You" and The Black Eyed Peas add a bit of cool factor with their version of Spandau Ballets "True." The song were most interested in hearing, though, has got to be Seals cover of Echo And The Bunnymens "Lips Like Sugar." Seal doing Ian McCulloch stop and think about that one for a minute. As for the actual movie, 50 First Dates looks pretty freakin cool. Reteaming Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, who also starred in the 80s-themed The Wedding Singer, the movie opens in theatres on February 13. - --------------------------------- ?Buscas un auto? The remasters are great. Finally listened to the grey album today (I did them in order) & the sound is fantastic. But as it was the same crew who brought us the box set was there ever any doubt ? And it's great to finally have Shine So Hard on cd. Only minor gripe I have is why weren't all the Bs included as bonus trax ? Now the $64 million question. When can we expect a @ the BBC 3cd set ? We need all the Peel sessions, the full show of the original BBC In Concert cd & anything else they recorded. The Jam's one is brilliant. Also how about a definative B sides collection ? I know I know I'm asking for a lot here but..... Once again hats off to messers Zax & Ingot ! I'm sure the publishing royalties will also come in handy.. Maybe we're all being a tad precious about this ????? - --------------------------------- Yahoo!
