No surprises, no Villiers. Got to hear some Chameleons before the show - Very Nice! Do yourselves a favor and go see Guided By Voices, somewhere near you. The greatest American band ever (PERIOD). Greatest band ever?!? GBV - Pictures On My Wall - Personified!!!! Saw them 5 times and always worth every cent. Zak, out. > >Well, as I expected, everybody brings their A game to the big city, >because the Bunnymen were dead on last night. I would love to hear them follow that one with "Gods will >be Gods" sometime ;) . Despite my general longing for more dusty lost >classics, the Bunnymen showed that they are still capable of delivering >very magical moments and I wish them many happy returns. The band's 25th anniversary reunion tour was a fantastic hit-filled affair, as Ian McCulloch's dramatic vocals and Will Sergeant's pointed guitarwork turned back time with crowd-pleasing classics such as "Bring on the Dancing Horses" and "Lips Like Sugar." McCulloch and friends also pulled out some surprises, combining their hit "Nothing Lasts Forever" with "Walk on the Wild Side," though nothing could match the anthemic reworking of "The Cutter." ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Oct 2003 09:19:52 -0800 From: "Ivan Smith" Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas set list - DIRECT ACTION REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!! believe me... many 'inside' are as frustrated as you... hands are tied.. - -I - ----- Original Message ----- From: "stevie g" To: Sent: Monday, October 27, 2003 1:32 AM Subject: seven-seas set list - DIRECT ACTION REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!! > i have to say i am starting to wonder if it's worth the money of > travel / hotel / gig tickets for a short greatest hists set. > > maybe they are saving the best for the UK gigs? > > > can't we try and force the issue here - some kind of ''petition'' from > fans to the band? > > ivan - you seem to have the best links with the band / peasey - can > you help? maybe a page on the bunnmen site where people can log their > votes? > > stevie g. > > p.s. i guess i'm never going to hear > ''c-c-c-c-cucumber-c-c-c-cabbage'' > coming from macs [blue] velvet vocal cords live again. > > > > > --------------------------------- > Want to chat instantly with your online friends? Same here, Steve. Thoroughly bored of the setlist last time out (whenever that was) -- I don't fancy yet another run through of 'Rescue' or 'Bedbugs' etc. But, hey, it's only a 40 min trip for me to Liverpool so, you know..... - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Oct 2003 18:42:31 +0000 (GMT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Stu=20Bird?= Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas set list - DIRECT ACTION REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!! Y'know, It may sound strange, but given my situation as it is... no money, crap job, crap prospects, can't even stretch/commit to a hotel booking at the moment, I'm so looking forward to the 300-odd mile round trip next month.. I just love the vibe in Liverpool, and seeing the Bunnymen just tops the cake.. Yes, it would be cool to hear some older, non-obvious stuff, but I just know that when I'm there, I ain't gonna give a damn.. Can't pretend otherwise !! One thing that is worrying me though, is that I haven't received my tickets from way-ahead yet.. Anyone else still waiting for theirs ??
