Christine Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi Charles I was draped over my fiancee at front right of the stage mac was fucking awesome. i thought all the new stuff sounded incredible. Top shelf all the way. It was pathetic that those sloppy clods in LA can't shut their pie holes whenever Mac does something a little different. What a bunch of yappy yentas... same jackass that was beligirently yelling for dancing horses at the John Anson Ford show a few years ago was back screaming the same damn thing. Who is that guy? Anyway, Mac was in fine form... voice great, looked good ( slimmer than in the recent vid clips and pix) . I don't think he belongs in these crappy clubs with thunderbird guzzling dorks anymore. He is above crowds that wanna see billy Idol and yell inane things whenever it quiets down. Fuckin A ,,, he should play at some performing arts centers next time where these fat drunken Raiders fans cant afford to get in! other than the annoying crowd..........great show, great set, great band, and the best voice on the planet! A pleasure to hear that singing off list now 'till next bunny or solo tour PS I liked macca goin Keith Richards on Pinkie VIVA MAC- THE BEST SINGER ON THE PLANET! great new songs... even better live! see ya'll with the rest of the trash in a year or two ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== Christine Portela Free online calendar with sync to Outlook(TM). ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 2003 22:17:38 +0100 From: "looloo" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas The Smiths Again The Smiths were the worst live sounding bands in 25 years of concert going, but I must admit the audience was having one of the best times. Everybody was litterally dancing (not just standing) on their chairs or dancing in the aisles. ............ i saw the Smiths once - they were doing a freebie for the GLC - & it was a lovely sunny Bank Holiday ( we do get sunny ones sometimes) & it was in the car park of the old County hall... It was fantastic & the atmosphere was just "happy" - people were clibing all over the building & dancing on window ledges & stuff. those were the days ;-) looloo ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 2003 22:21:47 +0100 From: "looloo" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas Tindersticks shouldn't that be "Top Show!" raj i have to agree it was TOTALLY EXCELLENT !!!! just a shame bloody British Rail can't keep the trains running at weekends.. we ended up on a coach for half the journey - taking over 3 hours to travel what should only take about 1 1/2 hours ... but that aside - it was brilliant & i would recommend anyone to go see them :-) - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Noose Boy Sent: 01 June 2003 15:16 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: seven-seas Tindersticks Absolutely beautiful and crisp gig last night in a very cool venue. Tony, I also saw them on "The Queen is Dead" tour. They were at the height of their popularity and I find that when a band hits such a high, the live performance is outstanding, but not in this case. Glad to hear that the early live stuff sounded better. Makes me feel better. Matt, I'm not an eloquent writer as I tend to write from an emotional viewpoint and off the cuff. But this rant has been bugging me since reading "The Severed Alliance" after the breakup, so I guess thoughts ruminating in my head and soul for over 15 years, should be eloquent. Thank you for the kind words and the name of the boot, I'll have to look for it. Amy, I was also bullied for both having handicaps and being too smart. Now, to break the ice, I'd like to pose a couple of Bunny polls that should cause some discussion and controversy here. 1) Treating Reverberation as a "true" bunny album: Which album do you prefer? a) The Grey Album b) Reverberation Although, the Grey album is less of a disappointment now then it was back in '87. I think I prefer Reverberation, it was fresh and a little different. Burke gave it a good shot, he was not an embarrassment to the bunny name. 2) i know we had a mini discussion of this when Flowers came out: In the Bunnymen Mk III canon, which albums is the best? a) Evergreen b) What Are You Going To Do With Your Life c) Flowers For me, it's WAYGTDWYL. Flowers comes a very close second place. Evergreen has many great singles, but does work or "flow" as a whole piece. A very good comeback album, nevertheless. 3) Which is the best Mac solo effort? a) Candleland b) Mysterio c) Slideling I haven't heard Slideling yet. Should be coming in this week. Although I imagine that it would be tough to be Candleland though. 4) Which is the best Will solo effort? a) Themes for Grind b) Glide - Live at Bubblebath, Liverpool c) Glide - Performance d) Weird As Fish This is the toughest question. Performance is the weakness. When I first heard Live at Liverpool, it didn't compare the grand ambient sounds of Grind, however, when I heard it again, i picked up how bubbly and cheerful and alive the music was, so it grew in my opinion up there with Grind. WAF is also groundbreaking. Tough, tough, I guess i'll have to pick Grind Henry _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963 ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-moderated-digest V2 #176 ******************************************
