Top shelf all the way. It was pathetic that those sloppy clods in LA can't shut their pie holes whenever Mac does something a little different. What a bunch of yappy yentas... same jackass that was beligirently yelling for dancing horses at the John Anson Ford show a few years ago was back screaming the same damn thing. Who is that guy? Anyway, Mac was in fine form... voice great, looked good ( slimmer than in the recent vid clips and pix) . I don't think he belongs in these crappy clubs with thunderbird guzzling dorks anymore. He is above crowds that wanna see billy Idol and yell inane things whenever it quiets down. Fuckin A ,,, he should play at some performing arts centers next time where these fat drunken Raiders fans cant afford to get in! other than the annoying crowd..........great show, great set, great band, and the best voice on the planet! A pleasure to hear that singing off list now 'till next bunny or solo tour PS I liked macca goin Keith Richards on Pinkie VIVA MAC- THE BEST SINGER ON THE PLANET! great new songs... even better live! see ya'll with the rest of the trash in a year or two ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 May 2003 13:31:45 +0100 (BST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Stu=20Bird?= Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas la show Thanks Charles.. Brilliant post.. Just how a review should be ( doffs cap stateside ). Top stuff indeed. Stu Charles Pham wrote: real quick (as it's late): the show was decent. disappointing at times, amazing other times. same setlist as most other shows. notes: first song 'playgrounds and city parks' was horrible, 'love in veins' was mega, 'nothing last forever' morphs into 'walk on the wild side', 'seven seas' added, 'history chimes' ended midway (again, just like chicago), 'lips like sugar' added "only because it's la" says mac & was great until the croon session, 'sweet jane' stops abruptly midway and jumps into "i'm waiting for my man". no 'stake your claim'. 'candleland' was amazing, 'lover lover lover' was just too good. best songs were the ones done properly without bantering, without the croon sessions (and i typically like the crooning). interesting to note, mac announced they're back on a plane to liverpool tomorrow...which nixes the rumor of him attending the coldplay hollywood bowl show on saturday. sucks. pete the bassist sporting a velvet underground t-shirt, which i thought was an electrafixion shirt (similiar boot design). other interesting note, if you're at a show and drinking, keep your mouth shut while the performer performs and/or speaks. i'm fucking through with l.a. crowds. and i'm tired of 10-minute songs. one or two peppered in a setlist, cool. but dragging literally every other song isn't exciting anymore...it's annoying and boring. bantering with the crowd & engaging in light-hearted chatter between some songs, cool. egging on annoying hecklers and bantering during poignant moments of songs is irritating. i guess this wasn't quick after all... ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== - --------------------------------- Yahoo! Please! I think the whole CD is AWESOME & a real bargain (for a change). Mac does a great job and Edwyn Collins' track is worth the price of the whole thing on it's own. my 2 cents, - -Carlito _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? I have been sending him Bunnymen albums and such since he was 10, and he has taken to them very nicely. His sister, who received the same treatment, ran amok and started listening to Garth Brooks.
