Thought the show was fab although a bit short and subdued, perhaps respect in a former house of the Lord?!! Would have preferred a couple of B/Men stompers to get the crowd going a bit, but after all it was a Mac show. Great venue though. Sorry I didnt get to have a chinwag with you, got caught at the bar with too many sherberts and catching up with a mate of mine. Maybe next time. Cheers again for the ticket and hope your good lady is on the mend. Top drawer. No 'Sold-Out' signs up but it was in all but name. Set-list as previous but in addition we had an almost solo rendition of History Chimes as part of the first encore. Put that down as a highlight. Both Mac and the band in good form - a very rocking sound retaining the Bunnymen dictum of trying to be the best garage band in the world. ALL the songs sounded great (new stuff sounding better than on record) but the highlights for me were all the Candleland tracks which breathed with new vigour. What else ?...Mac played the first verse of The Killing Moon solo with just his acoustic guitar for accompaniment (apart from the sound of his balls of steel clinking together), crowd taking over vocal duties for the chorus. Good to see the usual suspects...Stu & Trina, Mark, Red, Fintan, Jon etc etc Catch the tour if you can. Well worth catching the flip-side of Mac. - -- Barry... ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 May 2003 10:11:41 +0100 From: "Barry Whiting" Subject: seven-seas-moderated London - ----- Original Message ----- From: "looloo" >> Right I'm getting pissed off cos of some of the comments on >> bunnymen.com & >> ianmac.com !! after this was also posted there >> . >> I as not totally pissed !! I was not heckilng mac & fuck it i was >> talking to >> someone inbetween songs -- Someone commented last night that London gig had more than one person shouting abuse at Mac all the way through (I'm going to sound like my Dad now, but why do people pay to get into a show and behave like prize twats ?). No wonder Mac was in a less than enthusiastic mood. Looloo, I suppose you inadvertently got the backlash to this.
