I am so happy about the Ian news this week. The Slideling albumn out and a live show in a few weeks! I'm heading out to purchase the cd and a stub for the Slim's show. Just wondering if anyone from the list plans on going to the Slim's May 27th gig and has plans to meet upbefore hand. Can't wait to hear the cd. Lately he's been doing double sets, and acoustic one followed by full band show and generally does a good long set. You have to see him if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Amy Moseley Rupp Sent: 08 May 2003 21:30 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas Last night's show > great voice he has, great band, not much excitement though, last 2 > songs [velvets,] were brilliant, > then it all ended so fast,9.50pm, 1 hour and 10 mins on stage, > not a patch on you know who, still enjoyed it" not a patch on Ian MacNabb? Are the States shows going to be as short? I am actually halfway considering going to one if I can (ulp) just to fly again before I try to make a longhaul flight (double ulp). - --amy ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 May 2003 19:59:25 +0100 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas Last night's show - setlist Could have sworn Fintan said they did Ocean Rain the night before??? - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Martyn White Sent: 09 May 2003 08:48 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: RE: seven-seas Last night's show - setlist Last night(London) set was as follows(managed to get a setlist): Playgrounds & City Parks Love In Veins The Flickering Wall Seasons Baby Hold On Lover Lover Lover Sliding Candleland Arthur Nothing Lasts Forever High Wires Proud To Fall Kansas Killing Moon-Aborted! Stake Your Claim Sweet Jane Waiting For The Man(these last two just listed as 'Velvets' on the setlist So basically the same set as Sheffield, moved around a bit, with the addition of High Wires, Stake Your Claim & Proud To Fall. Killing Moon was aborted after a few seconds due to Looloo, spinster of this parish, upsetting him!!!!!!Soooo pissed! Naughty Looloo! Not sure you deserve a birthday pressy on Saturday! ; - ) The venue was really great. Perfect for the gig. A wide church, laid out very similar to a theatre layout. The satge was low, and had a big stone pulpit in the middle, behind Mac. Shame he didn't use it! Most of the audience stayed seated in the pews, but enough of us got us after the first song(with a bit of instigation from Mac) to pack the front, and the aisles and improved the feel. mac had to call on Peasy to remove a Scottish guy right in front of him after the second song, who was gobbing off, and upsetting Mac. Mac was in a strange mood. I've never seen him quite like that. He moaned if anyone said anything between songs, instead of enjoying the banter. I think he was sober, and a bit nervous. The band were good. the guitarist is excellent, and very cool, and it was great to see Mac on pinky, and he seemed to be enjoying playing guitar too. He made a point several times of sushing the band so that all we could hear was him on chords. Let's hope he carries on playing it when the Bunnies tour again. all in all, it was a good night, and especially good to meet up with the rabble again! Nice to meet The Rev, too. Sorry it was brief Ian, and thanks for coughing up for the ticket!
