It was on the Lowdown ep, so I guess it qualifies as a b-side. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Apr 2003 11:20:34 +0100 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas Suspect I'm in the middle of transferring my whole music collection to my computer and having done all my CDs a while back I've started the laborious process of doing the vinyl. Now I could, probably faster, just get the same songs off winmx or the like but I've found even listening to the copies of my vinyl that I prefer the old sound, pops and cracks included. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of K.P. What i would prefer is a back to back package with both versions available either seperately or as one package. To me it's like colouring classic b/w movies.....leave it alone and make yeh own damn movie, or else buy a colouring book. Oh yeh and a word to the wise.....Aladdin Sane with previously unreleased tracks......if those tracks were of any quality they surewould have been released 30 years ago. > > Which is why I've always hoped that they would be remastered. - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Don't think they were overly impressed !! STRIP AWAY the veneer that flatters Ian McCulloch - or, these days, glues him together - and what are you left with? Twenty years on from the Bunnymen's great days, and Mac's down to a haircut, an enduring reputation for rent-a-quote gobbiness, some famous young friends (Chris and Jonny from Coldplay, both featured to little effect here), and dwindling reserves of relevance to see him through his commercial twilight years. This is a wretched album, lyrically about as lazy and schoolbook-rhyming as it gets, musically a perhaps unintentional pitch to write material for David Sneddon. Platitude follows platitude, as predictable chord progressions lead songs into the buffers and the listener into a stupor. Only Baby Hold On hints at former glories. Lou Reed's, that is: has a more faithful facsimile of Walk on the Wild Side ever been recorded? Woeful. But the thing is, *you* will buy the album anyway, as all of us on this list doubtless will, and then you will either carry on playing it or it will collect dust, as you said. However, casual music fans who read the Sunday Times are not likely to rush out and buy the album on the strength of that review. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-moderated-digest V2 #120 ******************************************
