A friend has been looking for a song he swears he heard performed by Echo & the Bunnymen called "Don't Expect A Dream Come True" Is this ringing any bells out there? Anyone know where i can find it for him!?!? ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2003 00:05:17 +0100 From: "Shaz" Subject: seven-seas-moderated WOW what a gig (Mac/Colchester) Well Colchester Arts Centre - what a lovely quaint cozy venue - an old church. I was told that when the Bunnymen played there they had a lovely stained-glass window behind them on stage so I was looking foward to seeing it but it was covered up with curtains on Friday night - shame.... I heard they didn't have time to un-cover it. Missed the support band cause I was chilling out in hotel after my 3 hr drive after work but when I got there the place was fairly full but not packed, the hall was full up from front to the back (I think) but there was quite a lot of space between people. There was a small row of people right at the front and then a big gap about 3 or 4 feet. There was the usual pissed bloke at the front shouting at Mac the whole time which was sometimes amusing and sometimes annoying.....The crowd looked like they had come along to see what this Ian McCulloch bloke was like so not a huge reaction when the band came on (apart from the few real fans up the front)..... They started with Love in Veins which was great to get things going with it's upbeat chorus, the band seemed a bit nervous for the first few songs but after awhile looked like they were really enjoying it!! The new guitar player is brill, (the one who was doing re-covered) fits in really well and I like his style of guitar playing. The new songs really came to life live. Mac's voice was good and he was going nuts on his guitar (which broke a few strings) and he was really getting into playing it. I've posted the set-list on the website. I LOVE Kansas, it nearly made me cry it was sooo good.... :-) (the sign of a great gig to me is if it moves you to tears). After awhile it just seemed to take off and Ian went to that place that singers/muscians go to when they let themselves get taken by the moment and it's like they become elevated to a higher place (do you know what I mean??). I think the only Bunnymen song he did was NLF..and they finished with three lou reed songs Walk on Wild Side, Sweet Jane and Waiting for My Man and by the end he had the crowd eating out of his hand. We stayed for the club night after and Mac came out and signed my set-list (my first one) and said that he had really enjoyed playing the guitar again. I eventually got it signed by all of them :-) Wish I could see more solo gigs but I will be away. Anyway, anyone going is in for a treat!
