I saw it in a store but wanted to buy it but I was wary that it wasn't as good as Adorable, but if someone could tell me, because I know they are quite EATB influenced. As for Swell Maps, their individual albums are hard to find, ragged but interesting. - --- Ted Turner wrote: > yes..very slint like in form/execution...and very > bunnylike in mood/presence > and general role on planet earth (/for rock & roll) > kinda thing......at > least they were 2/3 years ago....the last coupla > things have been kinda > boring.......i'm even bored with interpol a bit > now...oh well....everyone > should buy 3 swell maps records immediately...that > would be fun to see.... > and would make people happier and better. > > > Ted > > Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 07:24 PM > Subject: RE: seven-seas list of influences? It's fantastic. I wouldn't go that far, Barry! It's okay in parts, and at least they appear to have remembered how to turn their guitars on, but Thom's voice still sounds a shadow of its former powerful self, and there's still too much knob-twiddling in the same vein as Kid A/Amnesiac. Having said that, the track they've chosen as the first single is a clever choice, because it is ALMOST a return to old form. Shame the rest of the album doesn't live up to it. Or maybe I'm just bitter that I couldn't get tix for the tour..... Oh, and if anyone else wants the album and is as unscrupulous as me, it was still available at the following site a few minutes ago..... http://das.caltech.edu/baz/radiohead/radio.html ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 02 Apr 2003 06:38:33 -0500 From: Red Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas Radiohead Revisited At 12:14 PM 4/2/03 +0100, you wrote: > >Oh, and if anyone else wants the album and is as unscrupulous as me, it >was still available at the following site a few minutes ago..... > >http://das.caltech.edu/baz/radiohead/radio.html It's available here too, as well as some live stuff from Glasgow: http://www.idioteque.it/multimedia/audio.htm But ya gotta change the .rad files to .mp3 after you DL them.
